Job Description
KFC is a globally recognized quick-service restaurant brand known for its commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and community values. With a rich history of serving delicious fried chicken and a customer-centric approach, KFC thrives on fostering a dynamic work environment where employees are encouraged to grow professionally and contribute meaningfully to the brand's success. As part of a large network of restaurants, KFC emphasizes operational excellence, equity, inclusion, and a culture that balances dedication with fun and personal growth.
The Assistant Manager role at KFC is pivotal in ensuring the restaurant operates smoothly and meets high standards of service and customer engagement. You will play a central role by supporting the Restaurant General Manager (RGM), upholding brand standards, and inspiring the team to deliver outstanding customer experiences. This position demands leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent interpersonal skills as you train, coach, and recognize team members. When the RGM is away, you will take charge of daily restaurant operations, making crucial decisions that keep the establishment running efficiently. The role is full-time with a 50-hour workweek, where you earn regular pay for 40 hours and time and a half for 10 hours, reflecting the balance between responsibility and reward.
As an Assistant Manager, your responsibilities will encompass ensuring customer satisfaction by consistently applying the KFC Connect Success Routine and prioritizing customer needs. You will oversee that all team members adhere to their shift responsibilities, maintain stringent food safety standards, and collaboratively assess team performance with the RGM. Addressing employee relations and resolving issues timely is integral, alongside assisting with recruitment, hiring, and promoting a culture of equity and belonging. Financial acumen is essential, as you help manage profit and loss through effective cash control, security procedures, inventory management, and labor oversight. Facility maintenance and compliance with health and safety regulations also fall within your purview.
Working at KFC as an Assistant Manager entails not only managing operations but also being part of a supportive and growth-oriented community. The company offers competitive compensation, performance bonuses, paid time off, a free meal each shift, and medical benefits. Employees have access to a 401k plan with a 4 percent match, career advancement options, professional development programs, tuition reimbursement, and scholarships supported by the KFC Foundation. This includes free college tuition options at Western Governors University, a savings match program, and hardship assistance. KFC is dedicated to creating a workplace where employees can thrive personally and professionally while contributing to a renowned hospitality brand.
