The role of a Store Manager at Five Below is central to maintaining this lively and customer-focused environment. As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring that all processes from receiving new stock to merchandising and sales execution are performed efficiently and effectively. Job Requirements

  • Frequently operate cash register
  • Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place or remove merchandise up to a height of 5-10 feet
  • Frequently ascend or descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock
  • Frequently position self to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop on the sales floor and in the stock room
  • Frequently communicate with customers, managers, and coworkers accurately
  • Frequently move across sales floor and stock room assisting customers and handling merchandise
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight shifts and travel
  • Must be able to identify and follow email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and procedures
  • Must be able to remain in an upright stationary position for 80 percent of the time
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • College experience preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience

Job Duties

  • Oversee the receiving, unpacking, and organizing of new stock to ensure items are quickly and efficiently placed on the sales floor
  • Manage the setup and maintenance of displays for specific store sections, ensuring signage is accurate and promotions are properly highlighted
  • Manage the entire process of opening or closing the store, including securing cash, locking doors, setting alarms
  • Act as Manager on Duty when needed, taking full responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and addressing urgent issues
  • Oversee daily activities of all store associates, ensuring effective performance and excellent customer service
  • Support onboarding and ongoing training of associates, helping them learn store policies, product knowledge, and operational procedures
  • Drive store sales and control expenses by optimizing merchandising, staff performance, and customer service
