We are currently seeking motivated individuals for the position of Assistant Store Manager in Training. This role offers a comprehensive learning experience designed to prepare trainees for key leadership roles, including Assistant Store Manager, Operations Assistant Store Manager, Night Operations Assistant Store Manager, and Specialty Assistant Store Manager. The successful candidate will engage in a hands-on training program that covers a broad range of skills and responsibilities essential for managing and supporting store operations effectively. As an Assistant Store Manager in Training, you will be instrumental in assisting the Store Manager in developing and executing strategies aimed at enhancing sales performance and profitability. Your role will involve leading and communicating effectively with store associates, ensuring a smooth, customer-focused operation. Trainees will gain experience in supervising sales efforts, maintaining inventory levels, managing staffing and scheduling, resolving customer concerns, overseeing front-end and back-end operations, and performing business analysis related to sales trends and merchandising plans. This role is ideal for those aspiring to grow within retail management, offering valuable exposure to various functional aspects of store leadership and operations. The position typically involves working in a comfortable indoor setting with minimal physical strain and occasional travel of less than 10 percent. This on-the-job training position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three years of work experience. Job Duties
- Supervise associates in the selling effort
- Ensure the store's in-stock position and maintain store appearance
- Manage staffing and scheduling
- Identify and resolve stock deficiencies
- Resolve customer issues and concerns
- Support service needs for installed sales, special orders, and product sales
- Interview, hire, motivate, coach, train, develop, and communicate with associates
- Conduct performance reviews and manage disciplinary processes
- Supervise front-end sales and return transactions
- Oversee receiving and freight teams to ensure proper stocking
- Maintain and operate store equipment and systems
- Manage daily financial operations
- Enforce store standard operating procedures and safety compliance
- Analyze sales trends to drive department profitability
- Collaborate with store managers and merchandising teams on merchandise placement and signing
- Support inventory management and stock integrity
