Job Description

Prime and Proper Nashville is a distinguished establishment under Heirloom Hospitality Group LLC, a continuously growing hospitality group that prides itself on fostering a culture of excellence and growth across its six unique concepts and upcoming projects. Known for blending classic hospitality values with innovative culinary and beverage experiences, Prime and Proper has established itself as a premier dining destination in Nashville. The company focuses on promoting and growing internal talent, ensuring a supportive and dynamic workplace where creativity and leadership thrive. As part of this thriving group, Prime and Proper offers a welcoming environment for professionals who want to develop their careers in the hospitality industry while being part of an influential community-focused dining experience.

The Dining Room Sommelier role at Prime and Proper Nashville is a critical leadership position that works closely with the Wine Director and Head Sommelier. The candidate will take on wine leadership responsibilities that contribute towards driving the restaurant's goals and nurturing future leaders within the team. This position is ideal for wine professionals who thrive in a high-energy, guest-centered environment and want a role that blends creative freedom with operational responsibility. Competitive compensation is offered alongside robust opportunities for professional development, including participation in product training, menu development, and a well-supported wine program. The role demands a candidate who embodies the values of teamwork, guest prioritization, and passion for the culinary and beverage world.

This role's essential functions include collaborating with management to lead and oversee all wine operations, ensuring the highest standards of service and guest satisfaction. The Sommelier will work to drive sales, control costs, and contribute strategically to the restaurant's financial goals. Prime and Proper Nashville seeks candidates who are willing to learn, teach, and actively engage with both the staff and guests. The ideal candidate must demonstrate an ability to maintain composure under pressure, possess excellent communication skills, and show initiative in innovating wine offerings and training programs. The Sommelier will also be responsible for conducting staff training sessions, participating in wine tastings, and helping to create and purchase for new wine menus in partnership with the Wine Director.

This is a perfect opportunity for someone with at least one year of hospitality management experience, ideally with exposure to high-volume or fine dining settings, although the right attitude is highly valued. The Sommelier should boast strong local hospitality knowledge and a commitment to community connection. Formal wine education, such as coursework with The Court of Master Sommeliers or the Wine and Spirit Education Trust, is essential for success in this role. Furthermore, the candidate must have the physical ability to perform the role's duties, including standing, walking, lifting, and bending continuously.

Prime and Proper embraces innovation, teamwork, and hospitality excellence. The company expects its team members to own and uphold the core values and standards that create memorable experiences for guests and provide a fulfilling work environment for staff. If you are passionate about wine, leadership, and growth within a vibrant hospitality group, Prime and Proper Nashville offers a rewarding path with room to advance and make a significant impact in the industry.
