Job Description

Snowbird is an exceptional resort located in the heart of the Wasatch Mountain Range in Salt Lake City, Utah. Known for its breathtaking views and challenging terrain, Snowbird offers a unique mountain experience through its distinct summer and winter seasons. The resort prides itself not only on its natural beauty and recreational opportunities but also on its remarkable team of employees who share a passion for the outdoors and excellence in guest service. Snowbird operates with a commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful, and dynamic work environment, providing a range of employment opportunities including full-time, part-time, seasonal, multi-seasonal, and year-round roles. Employees benefit from numerous perks such as ski passes, discounts, medical insurance options, and convenient transportation. As an equal opportunity employer, Snowbird values diversity and fosters a culture of respect and inclusion for all backgrounds, orientations, and beliefs.

The Restaurant Assistant Manager at The Summit at Snowbird Resort plays a crucial leadership role in supporting the restaurant's overall operations and enhancing guest experiences under the guidance of the Senior Manager. This full-time, salaried position involves managing daily restaurant operations with a focus on maintaining high food quality, service standards, and operational efficiency. The Assistant Manager leads a dedicated team by promoting professionalism, attention to detail, and organizational excellence. Key responsibilities include directing staff, ensuring clean and organized guest areas, managing inventory and orders, supporting training initiatives, and upholding Snowbird’s world-class service standards. The role demands strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships across departments to achieve seamless communication and coordinated event execution. Flexibility in scheduling is a must, with shifts varying based on business levels and including weekends and holidays.

This position requires the Assistant Manager to be actively engaged in both front-of-house and back-of-house activities, including conducting shift meetings, supporting event logistics, and maintaining accurate operational records. The role involves coaching and mentoring staff through one-on-one meetings, dealing with performance issues, and assisting with scheduling to ensure all shifts are effectively covered. A strong sense of safety and compliance is also essential, encompassing responsible alcohol service and adherence to state regulations. Because Snowbird is located in a mountainous, snowy environment, this position occasionally requires the ability to ski or snowboard between the restaurant and base, as well as physical capabilities like lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods. Candidates must be prepared for unique stresses related to winter conditions and potential overnight stays due to road closures.

At Snowbird, the Restaurant Assistant Manager is not only a supervisor but a leader who advocates for teamwork, guest satisfaction, and continuous improvement. This position offers opportunities to build a rewarding career in the hospitality industry in a one-of-a-kind mountain setting. It is ideal for someone who combines a passion for exceptional service with strong leadership, operational acumen, and a love for the outdoors. The resort's commitment to employee development is reflected in the comprehensive training programs and career advancement pathways available. With competitive compensation, a collaborative work culture, and extensive employee benefits, the Restaurant Assistant Manager role at Snowbird offers a fulfilling and dynamic workplace for hospitality professionals eager to grow their skills and contribute to a premier mountain resort experience.
