Job Description
Dunkin' is a globally recognized leader in the quick service restaurant industry, renowned for its wide range of coffee and baked goods. Established as a fast-growing and customer-centric brand, Dunkin' is committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences through high-quality products and outstanding service. The company operates thousands of franchises worldwide, fostering a work culture that supports growth, innovation, and operational excellence. Known for its vibrant team atmosphere and strong dedication to its employees, Dunkin' offers a dynamic environment where teamwork and leadership are highly valued. The Assistant Restaurant Manager plays a central role in maintaining these standards in one of the company's franchise locations.
The Assistant Restaurant Manager at Dunkin' supports the Restaurant Manager, shift leaders, and the entire team, ensuring smooth floor operations and overseeing brand training programs to maintain the brand’s high standards. This role requires a leader who is hands-on and capable of performing all duties that the Restaurant Manager handles in their absence. The Assistant Manager is responsible for delivering strong and positive leadership that promotes a guest-focused culture throughout the restaurant. This includes maintaining operational excellence while driving sales and profitability under the franchisee's policies and Dunkin's brand standards.
Key responsibilities include ensuring the execution of brand standards, recipes, and systems as well as leading team meetings and overseeing training for restaurant staff. Furthermore, the Assistant Manager reviews guest feedback and implements strategies for continual improvement to enhance guest satisfaction. Supporting the Restaurant Manager in new product rollouts, marketing efforts, and in-store setup ensures the team is fully equipped to meet Dunkin’s expectations regarding customer experience and operational success.
The position also entails significant management duties such as recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and developing restaurant team members. The Assistant Manager assists in performance appraisals and coaches employees to boost sales, profitability, and overall guest satisfaction. Operational responsibilities include controlling costs, managing inventory, scheduling labor effectively, and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing safety and food safety standards.
Candidates for the role should possess basic computer skills, be fluent in English, and have a background in retail, restaurant, or hospitality leadership. Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to foster a motivating and cooperative team atmosphere are crucial. The job demands a proactive attitude, punctuality, honesty, and a willingness to embrace change while leading by example.
Physically, the role requires stamina for standing, repetitive motions such as bending and reaching, as well as occasionally lifting packages and working in compact spaces. While demanding, the Assistant Restaurant Manager position at Dunkin' offers ample opportunities for professional growth, leadership development, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the restaurant’s success and guest experience.
