The Assistant Restaurant Leader at Raising Cane's plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the restaurant while maintaining the organization's high standards and unique culture. This role requires working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, which involves physical activities such as walking, standing, lifting, and bending, alongside customer interaction. The position demands adaptability to varied temperatures and adherence to safety while handling food products, allergens, commercial cooking equipment, and cleaning supplies safely. The Assistant Restaurant Leader is chiefly responsible for managing hourly team members, including hiring and termination, onboarding, payroll processing, and creating efficient work and training schedules. Performance management tasks like coaching, development, and documentation are also key components of the role. Additionally, this position involves taking charge as manager on duty for opening and closing duties and managing cash handling procedures to ensure financial accountability. It requires a strong sense of leadership, organizational skills, and commitment to quality standards, which are reflected in executing regular shift management meetings and ensuring that the restaurant is clean, safe, and operationally efficient. This position offers a competitive annual salary starting at $55,000, complemented by monthly training incentives and the potential for additional monthly bonuses tied to restaurant profitability.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • high school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3 or more years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • ability to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
  • able to perform physical activities including walking, standing, lifting and bending
  • self-driven, flexible and energetic with strong communication skills
  • valid driver’s license
  • able to travel as needed for work-related functions and training

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • some college preferred
  • minimum of 3 years restaurant or retail management experience
  • new restaurant opening experience preferred
  • ability to work effectively independently and in a team
  • strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • flexible to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends
  • valid driver’s license
  • able to adapt quickly to new technology systems

Job Duties

  • Hire and terminate all hourly, non-management crewmembers
  • own the onboarding, status change and payroll process for all hourly crewmembers
  • create crewmember work and training schedules
  • manage the performance of all hourly crewmembers including development, coaching, communication and documentation
  • act as manager on duty and open and close the restaurant
  • manage cash handling and ensure accountability
  • enforce Raising Cane's policies and standards
  • execute shift management meeting Raising Cane's operations and safety standards
  • deploy crewmembers during a shift
  • provide exemplary customer service
  • utilize reward and recognition programs for crewmembers
  • authorize employee functions requiring manager approval
  • ensure cleanliness of the restaurant and maintain facility
  • complete other duties as assigned
