The Assistant Operations Manager role at CLEAR is a key position within the airport leadership team, responsible for driving the daily floor operations at the airport station. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this leadership role is designed for a hands-on, proactive individual who thrives in a bustling environment and can balance multiple priorities efficiently. The Assistant Operations Manager spends the majority of their time on the floor, directly engaging with customers, ensuring all TSA and CLEAR policies and procedures are upheld with the highest standards of security and integrity.

This role involves managing shift briefings, debriefs, and team huddles while overseeing break schedules, rotations, and other operational adjustments. It requires the ability to coach, mentor, and train team members to meet and exceed sales and customer service goals consistently. The Assistant Operations Manager must have a strong technical understanding of CLEAR’s technology and assets, including the ability to troubleshoot devices when needed. Additionally, this role involves building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships with airport authorities, TSA, and airline partners, representing CLEAR professionally in the airport environment.

A critical aspect of the position includes incident prevention and response management, ensuring a secure and smooth operational flow at all times. The Assistant Operations Manager also actively participates in station management meetings to align with broader company strategies and initiatives. This position demands excellent organizational skills, strong interpersonal communication, and leadership capabilities to motivate and influence a diverse frontline team effectively.

Candidates for this role should be prepared to work a non-traditional schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the nature of airport operations. The role requires the completion of extensive background and security screenings, including SIDA badge eligibility and possibly federal Personnel Security (PerSec) SF-85 screenings, to ensure compliance with all federal security standards. Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of leadership experience in a customer-facing operation such as retail, restaurants, hospitality or rental cars
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate, mentor and influence others

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks
  • Proficiency in using technology daily in your work
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures set forth by CLEAR, airport, state and federal regulations
  • Availability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends, holidays, early mornings, and/or evenings
  • Completion of required airport and government security screening processes, including SIDA badge eligibility

Job Duties

  • Spend 80% of time on the floor in a customer-facing environment at the airport
  • Ensure CLEAR and TSA policy and procedures are conducted with the highest levels of security and integrity
  • Monitor and drive security, service and sales on each shift
  • Manage shift briefings, debriefs and huddles, as well as any changes, breaks, and rotations
  • Coach, mentor, and train the team to meet sales and customer service goals and standards
  • Oversee asset control and devices, understand how our technology works and be able to troubleshoot when necessary
  • Represent CLEAR throughout the airport, TSA and airline community by building strong stakeholder relationships
  • Manage incident prevention and responses
  • Attend station management team meetings
