Job Description
Flynn Group, founded by Greg Flynn in 1999, began its impressive journey with the acquisition of eight Applebee's restaurants. Over two decades, through a combination of opening new stores and acquiring other franchise operators, Flynn Group has become the largest Applebee's franchisee globally. With over 460 Applebee's locations spanning 24 states, Flynn Group's foundation is built on strong growth, operational excellence, and brand expansion. Beyond Applebee's, Flynn Group owns and operates a distinguished portfolio of iconic restaurant and fitness brands such as Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. This broad industry presence highlights their commitment to being the premier operator within each brand they represent.
Flynn Applebee's is one of the seven premier brands within the Flynn Group, underscoring the group's mission to deliver outstanding guest experiences by focusing on core values including genuine care for people, champion-level performance, and collective success. The Assistant Manager role at Flynn Applebee's is a critical position actively involved in every facet of daily restaurant operations. Individuals in this role play a pivotal part in inspiring and leading both guests and staff to foster a passionate and engaging dining atmosphere.
As an Assistant Manager, you are expected to be a strong team leader with excellent problem-solving skills who thrives under pressure and maintains composure in challenging situations. The role requires hands-on involvement in ensuring that all team members deliver timely, friendly service in alignment with company standards. You will manage scheduling to meet sales demands, handle inventory control, and maintain safety, security, and sanitation standards in the restaurant environment. In addition to daily operational tasks, you will lead employee development by implementing training programs, conducting individual coaching, performance evaluations, and fostering a culture consistent with Flynn Applebee's core values.
The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $19 to $23.50 per hour, which approximates an annual salary between $54,340 to $67,200 based on a 50-hour workweek. Successful candidates may also qualify for monthly bonuses where applicable. Flynn Group supports its team members with a comprehensive benefits package including profit sharing, medical, dental, vision insurance, 401k retirement plans with employer matching, paid vacation, and sick leave. Managers with continuous employment receive additional paid time off, emphasizing Flynn Group's dedication to employee well-being and retention.
The Assistant Manager role demands physical stamina, including the ability to work varied shifts including weekends, stand and move efficiently for up to 10 hours, and safely lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. The role requires excellent communication skills, reading and writing proficiency, and dexterity for handling small tools and equipment. Flynn Group's inclusive culture embraces diversity and offers reasonable accommodations during the application process for individuals with disabilities.
Joining Flynn Applebee's as an Assistant Manager means becoming a part of a dynamic, fast-paced environment where hard work is paired with great teamwork and an enjoyable atmosphere. This role is designed for motivated individuals looking to grow within a top-tier franchise system while contributing to the ongoing success and expansion of a renowned global brand.
