Job Description

Panda Express, founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, with nearly 2,800 locations globally. The company is widely recognized for its commitment to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences. Panda Express emphasizes the importance of family values in its organizational culture, which is reflected in the way they treat their associates and engage with communities. The company's mission is to inspire a better life for its team members while positively impacting the neighborhoods they serve. Panda Express is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace free from discrimination on the basis of gender, race, religion, disability, and other protected characteristics.

The role of an Assistant Manager at Panda Express is pivotal to the success of individual stores. This leadership position involves overseeing daily operations, managing and directing associates, and ensuring the store meets its financial goals while consistently delivering exceptional guest experiences. Assistant Managers are responsible for the hiring process and the ongoing development of their team, contributing to a supportive and efficient work environment. To prepare candidates for success in this role, Panda Express offers a paid Store Management Leadership Training program lasting three or more weeks, providing mentorship and community support from experienced leaders within the Panda family.

Working as an Assistant Manager offers an opportunity to be part of a thriving and dynamic company committed to professional growth. The position requires flexible availability, including opening and closing shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the fluctuating demands of the food service industry. Candidates must be willing to relocate within a 50-mile radius of their home if necessary. Additionally, the role demands adherence to food safety standards, which includes obtaining Serve Safe certification. This job is physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work efficiently in a fast-paced kiosk environment characterized by heat, noise, and limited space. Strong communication skills and the ability to handle conflicts and changing priorities effectively are essential traits for success in this position.

Panda Express is deeply committed to providing a workplace that supports diversity, equity, and inclusion, offering reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals throughout the application and employment process. This commitment extends to various religious accommodations and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Candidates interested in joining Panda Express will find a supportive environment where their growth and contribution to the company’s continued success are valued. By becoming part of Panda’s management team, you join a company dedicated not only to culinary excellence but also to nurturing leadership and professional development within its ranks.
