Human resource management is a key element where the Assistant Manager will be responsible for crew training, ongoing coaching, providing feedback to hourly workers, and conducting health and safety audits. This role also requires an active hands-on approach, requiring the manager to frequently perform operational duties to lead by example, respond to customer needs, and model the desired behavioral standards in the workplace. As a leader, the Assistant Manager motivates and trains employees to achieve operational excellence, supervising roles such as Shift Leads and Restaurant Team Members.

Maintaining fast and accurate service alongside positive guest relations is crucial, with an emphasis on ensuring that all products meet the company's quality standards. The Assistant Manager also ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health standards, local health regulations, and internal safety policies to provide a safe environment for both employees and customers. Additionally, the position involves participating in recruitment processes including interviewing, hiring, conducting performance appraisals, and managing disciplinary actions—a testament to the comprehensive management scope of the role. Job Duties

  • Serves as the assistant to the Restaurant General Manager and provides additional management coverage of operating hours and direct supervision of operations in an individual unit
  • Customer service interaction and management responsibility for more than 3 people
  • Full responsibility for facilities and equipment maintenance, adherence to detailed cleaning tasks, and specific routine financial control
  • Human resource responsibilities including crew training, ongoing coaching, feedback for hourly employees, health and safety audits
  • Routinely performs hands-on operational work to train employees, respond to customer service needs, or role model appropriate skills and behaviors
  • Provides overall leadership, recognizes and motivates team members, and coaches and trains the team for operational excellence
  • Maintains fast, accurate service and positive guest relations, ensuring products meet company quality standards
