The Assistant Manager (AM) role at BURGER KING is a pivotal position that plays a major part in the operational success of a single restaurant. The AM acts as the operations leader, focusing on profitability, guest service, people development, and effective operations management. Reporting directly to the Restaurant General Manager (RGM), the Assistant Manager supports the daily management of the restaurant, ensuring that all departments work harmoniously to drive key performance outcomes. The AM oversees a team of 20-45 employees, including Hourly Shift Supervisors and Team Members, and is responsible for creating a work environment that motivates and empowers team members to deliver outstanding guest service.

The Assistant Manager manages inventory costs, performs regular inspections, oversees ordering and receipt of inventory truck orders, and ensures the maintenance of restaurant assets. Keeping the facility and equipment in peak condition through preventative maintenance is a critical task, as is adhering to strict cash control and security protocols. Additionally, the AM is instrumental in motivating the team to meet and exceed guest expectations through accurate, fast, and friendly service in a clean and welcoming environment.
People leadership is a key element of the position, where the AM provides coaching and feedback to Shift Coordinators and Team Members, helping to develop their skills and elevate overall restaurant performance. Operational management duties include ensuring efficient and accurate preparation and sale of products, maintaining speed of service standards, and upholding operational and brand standards consistently. The Assistant Manager also steps into the role of Hourly Shift Coordinator as needed, demonstrating flexibility and hands-on leadership.

- high school diploma or GED required
- 1-2 years of previous quick service restaurant experience
- available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications

- 1-2 years of previous quick service restaurant experience, experience in management preferred
- some understanding of P&L interpretation and management to influence profitability

Job Duties
- manages inventory costs and maintains inventory by performing daily, weekly, and monthly inventory inspections
- places and receives inventory truck orders
- maintains and regularly monitors a list of all restaurant assets
- ensures preventative maintenance of restaurant facility and equipment is completed in accordance with company standards, interacting with external vendors as required
- ensures that the restaurant follows all cash control and security procedures
- motivates and directs team members to exceed guest expectations with accurate, fast, and friendly service in a clean facility
- provides coaching and feedback to shifts coordinators and team members to increase the restaurant team's capabilities and raise restaurant performance
- directs restaurant team toward efficient and accurate preparation and sale of products for prompt delivery within established speed of service guidelines
- ensures that restaurant upholds operational and brand standards
- performs duties of hourly shift coordinator when necessary
