Job Description
Flynn Group, founded by Greg Flynn, has established itself as a powerhouse in the restaurant franchise industry since 1999. Starting with the acquisition of eight Applebee's restaurants, Flynn Group has grown exponentially over the past two decades. Through strategic growth initiatives including building new stores and acquiring other franchise operators, Flynn Group has become the largest Applebee's franchisee in the world. Today, the company operates over 460 Applebee's restaurants across 24 states, underscoring its expansive reach and operational expertise.
Flynn Applebee's is one of seven premier brands under the Flynn Group umbrella. This diversified portfolio includes iconic and world-class brands such as Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. A core focus of Flynn Group is to be the premier operator within each of these brands. The company’s culture is built on three core values: Care Genuinely for People, Play like a Champion, and Win as One, which are deeply embedded in the daily operations and employee interactions.
The Assistant Manager role at Flynn Applebee's offers a dynamic and challenging opportunity to be involved in all facets of restaurant operations. This role is pivotal in delivering exceptional guest experiences and creating a positive work environment for staff. The Assistant Manager is expected to serve as a strong team leader, an excellent problem solver, and someone who can gracefully handle stress and multiple priorities. This role requires balancing hard work with enthusiasm and enjoyment, making the workplace engaging and efficient.
Responsibilities include ensuring timely and friendly service in line with company standards, responding swiftly and effectively to guest complaints, and cultivating a workplace culture aligned with the company’s core values. The Assistant Manager plays an active role in scheduling, inventory management, safety, sanitation, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. The position requires hands-on involvement in day-to-day tasks ranging from cooking and serving to maintaining cleanliness and order. From leading recruitment efforts and employee training to evaluating team performance and fostering leadership development, the Assistant Manager contributes to building a cohesive and skilled workforce.
Compensation for this position ranges from $20.98 to $27.27 per hour, which translates to approximately $60,000 to $78,000 annually based on a 50-hour work week. The package also includes potential for monthly bonuses where applicable, competitive wages, profit sharing, medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with match, paid vacation, and paid sick leave.
Physical demands are an important aspect of this role; candidates must be able to work varied shifts including weekends, stand and move throughout an entire shift, safely lift up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks that require dexterity and effective communication skills. Flynn Group is dedicated to fostering an inclusive workforce and provides reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities throughout the application process. Joining Flynn Applebee's means becoming part of a premier team committed to excellence, growth, and a supportive work environment.
