Job Description

Flynn Group, founded by Greg Flynn in 1999, embarked on its journey with the acquisition of eight Applebee's restaurants. Over the past two decades, the group has experienced remarkable growth, expanding by building new stores and acquiring other franchise operators. This persistent progress led Flynn Group to become the largest Applebee's franchisee in the world. With a strong foundation in the restaurant industry, Flynn Group successfully diversified its portfolio, expanding into other brands, countries, and industries. The Flynn Group currently operates over 460 Applebee's locations across 24 states, a testament to its successful growth and leadership in the restaurant franchise landscape.

Flynn Applebee's is one of the seven premier brands under the Flynn Group umbrella. The Flynn Group has established itself as the largest franchise operator globally, managing a diversified portfolio of world-class, iconic brands that span different segments of the food and fitness industries. Besides Applebee's, the group operates other renowned brands including Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. The mission of Flynn Group is clear and focused: to be the premier operator within each of these brands. This goal is guided by the company’s core values of genuinely caring for people, playing like champions, and winning together as one team.

The role of Assistant Manager at Flynn Applebee's is a dynamic and integral position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant. The Assistant Manager plays a key leadership role, energizing the team and guests to ensure an exceptional experience every day. You will cultivate a positive team culture that embodies Flynn Applebee's core beliefs. Promptly addressing and correcting any guest complaints is crucial for maintaining the brand's high standards. You will take an active role in guest interaction through table visits, ensuring an elevated dining experience. Operational responsibilities include managing inventory levels, product preparation, and presentation standards through thorough line checks, scheduling employees to meet sales demands, and ensuring safety and security protocols are rigorously followed.

Maintenance of cleanliness, sanitation, and restaurant organization is expected to be consistent, alongside supporting the recruitment and training of team members. Staff development is a focal point, achieved through training sessions, meetings, individual evaluations, and performance documentation. The Assistant Manager is accountable for controlling departmental costs and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Administrative duties include preparing and submitting accurate daily paperwork and conducting bi-weekly or weekly food and liquor inventories.

This position demands flexibility and a willingness to work in various roles within the restaurant, such as cooking, bartending, seating guests, or expediting orders as needed. Continuous growth is encouraged through the Management Development Program, which supports the development of leadership skills and proficiencies. The role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $65,000 to $78,000 based on a 50-hour work week.
