This position is with a Dunkin' restaurant franchise, independently owned and operated under a franchise granted by DD Franchising LLC. Dunkin' is a globally recognized brand known for its quality coffee, beverages, and baked goods, offering fast and friendly service to millions of customers each day. As a franchisee, the restaurant operates independently from Dunkin' Brands, Inc., enabling local management to tailor their approach to best serve their community and maximize operational success.

The role of Assistant Manager is critical in supporting the Restaurant Manager to create a dedicated and high-performing team committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences while achieving profitable sales growth. This position requires a balance of leadership, operational excellence, and a passion for customer service. Assistant Managers engage directly with team members daily, fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment through effective communication, coaching, and recognition of achievements. They play an active role in recruitment, selection, and training of new employees, ensuring the workforce is well-prepared and motivated.

Assistant Managers also take a hands-on approach to uphold brand standards that prioritize guest satisfaction. They serve as role models for excellence in service, cleanliness, and operational procedures, ensuring that every customer interaction is positive and memorable. This includes maintaining compliance with health and safety standards such as ServSafe certification, and continuously monitoring team performance to meet and exceed quality and service benchmarks.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
At least 18 years of age where applicable
Previous experience in restaurant, retail, or supervisory roles
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to perform math and handle financial management tasks
Capability to obtain ServSafe certification or complete required training
Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Ability to manage and resolve employee conflicts effectively

Job Duties

Promote a team environment by fostering respect, providing coaching and feedback, recognizing achievements, resolving employee concerns, and communicating effectively
Assist in the recruitment, selection, and training of Crew Members and Shift Leaders as directed by the Restaurant Manager
Support development of team members through effective cross training, deployment, and delegation of responsibilities
Hold team members accountable for their behavior and performance, addressing concerns promptly
Hold guests as highest priority and role model exceptional guest service
Assist Restaurant Manager in promoting an environment where there is a sense of urgency to satisfy guests
Ensure Brand standards and systems are executed
Monitor team performance to ensure quality, service, and cleanliness standards are met at all times
Complete all required training including ServSafe certification
Drive sales through effective execution of restaurant standards and marketing initiatives
Delegate and lead processes to control labor costs, food costs, and cash
Ensure the safety and security of team and guests through a focus on preventative maintenance and cleanliness
Work with Restaurant Manager to assess restaurant, develop action plans to target opportunities, and implement plans designed to achieve goals
Comply with all restaurant, Brand, and franchisee policies
