The Assistant Manager position at KFC is pivotal to the restaurant’s success, acting as a bridge between the team and the Restaurant General Manager (RGM). This role is located at the KFC restaurant on 2571 Easton Ave, Bethlehem, PA, and demands a proactive leader who inspires and motivates staff to uphold brand standards and deliver exceptional customer service. The Assistant Manager supports daily operations, ensures compliance with food safety and health standards, and takes charge in the absence of the RGM. This position requires working a 50-hour week, where 40 hours are compensated at a regular pay rate and the additional 10 hours at time and a half, providing a rewarding balance of dedication and recognition.

In this role, the Assistant Manager is entrusted with key responsibilities such as modeling the KFC Connect Success Routine to prioritize customer satisfaction, maintaining high food safety standards, overseeing team adherence to operational duties, and driving the team’s performance through coaching and constructive feedback. The Assistant Manager collaborates closely with the RGM in recruiting and hiring top talent, fostering a culture of equity and inclusion, and manages financial aspects like profit and loss, cash control, inventory, and labor management. Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • assist with profit and loss management by following cash control and security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor and reviewing financial reports
  • ensure all employees receive proper training and resources

Job Duties

  • ensure consistent customer satisfaction by effectively modeling the KFC Connect Success Routine and prioritizing customer needs
  • oversee team members' adherence to shift responsibilities and maintain high food safety standards
  • take charge of restaurant operations in the restaurant general manager's absence
  • collaborate with the restaurant general manager in assessing team performance, providing ongoing constructive and positive feedback
  • address employee relations issues as they arise, determine immediate resolutions, or escalate to the restaurant general manager when necessary
  • assist in sourcing, recruiting, interviewing and hiring team members while driving a culture of equity, inclusion and belonging
  • assist with profit and loss management including cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance and labor management
  • review financial reports and take appropriate actions to optimize performance
  • support the restaurant general manager in facility maintenance and ensure health and safety standards are consistently followed
