Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • one year of supervisory experience
  • two years of customer service experience
  • basic computer proficiency
  • upbeat and positive attitude
  • punctuality and dependability
  • exceptional customer service skills able to interact positively and professionally
  • strong communication with staff and customers
  • demonstrate diplomacy in interactions
  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • continual standing and walking during shift
  • continual talking in person or on phone during shift
  • ability to work third shift occasionally
  • occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
  • exposure to toxic chemicals during shift
  • physical demands requiring bending climbing balancing kneeling crouching and twisting

Job Duties

  • Recruit hire train and develop a high performing team of member service representatives trainers and custodians
  • create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for members prospective members and guests ensuring adherence to customer service guidelines
  • schedule team members and ensure all shifts are covered
  • train coach and hold team members accountable to company values and goals
  • resolve team member issues and discuss disciplinary measures with General Manager or Area Manager
  • manage front desk activities including answering phones assisting callers checking members in new member sign-ups conducting tours and addressing member requests
  • ensure prompt opening and closing of gym
  • oversee cleanliness and maintenance of facility ensuring safety of employees members and property and timely communication of equipment repairs
  • manage marketing efforts by training team on promotions
  • authorize expenditures and refunds and make daily bank deposits
  • prepare HR forms and send to corporate HR
  • track statistics and reports weekly monthly and annually
  • maintain backup support for absent team members
