Job Description
Aramark is a global leader in food service, facilities management, and uniform services, providing exceptional experiences to millions of guests across 15 countries daily. Dedicated to enriching lives through innovative dining and facility solutions, Aramark emphasizes service, sustainability, and community engagement. The company fosters a diverse and inclusive work environment where every employee has equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, military or veteran status, or other protected characteristics. This commitment underpins Aramark’s mission to positively impact its clients, communities, and the planet while empowering employees to reach their full professional potential.
The Food Service Manager position at Aramark plays a critical leadership role in managing dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu, typically within cafeteria or residential dining facilities. This management role focuses on developing and implementing dining solutions tailored to meet customer preferences and needs while ensuring high standards of safety, sanitation, and customer service are upheld. Responsible for overseeing daily front-of-house activities alongside the Food Service Director, the manager ensures seamless operational flow and exceptional dining experiences. Key responsibilities include coaching team members through Aramark’s recognized coaching model to maximize employee engagement and performance, conducting daily team briefings, and ensuring compliance with all safety and health regulations.
Financial stewardship is also a core aspect of this role, requiring the Food Service Manager to maintain accurate profit and loss (P&L) statements, meet financial targets set by both the client and the company, and adopt Aramark’s standardized processes and systems for operational excellence. This includes analyzing performance metrics, ordering, and inventory trends to educate teams on optimizing margins and controlling costs. The manager leads efficiency initiatives by following food and labor productivity standards and supervises production, quality control, and cost management efforts.
Aramark values continuous growth and adaptability, so job duties may evolve to meet organizational commitments. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills to foster effective client and customer relationships that support mutually beneficial business outcomes. Physical demands include occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds and the ability to stand for extended periods, reflecting the hands-on nature of food service management. Overall, this position offers an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about food service leadership and committed to driving both operational success and outstanding customer satisfaction within a supportive global corporation.
