Job Requirements

  • Specialized or technical training
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a leadership role in a high-volume kitchen
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to maintain budgetary controls

  • Specialized or technical training
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a leadership role within a high-volume, full service kitchen environment

Job Duties

  • Assists in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations
  • Maintains compliance with university policies, inventory procedures, and health and safety guidelines
  • Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, schedules, and delegates responsibilities to staff
  • Assists the Kitchen Manager as assigned
  • Ensures adherence to systems, procedures, and policies
  • Contributes to creating, maintaining, and implementing unit Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assists with maintaining costs for food, beverage, and labor within budget guidelines
  • Directly supervises assigned staff including recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating employees
  • Develops and implements security procedures and coordinates with University Public Safety
  • Promotes security awareness and disseminates related information
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned
