The Assistant Kitchen Manager role at PopStroke plays a vital leadership position within the culinary team, supporting the Kitchen Manager by overseeing food quality, kitchen operations, and personnel management, especially in the Kitchen Manager’s absence. This hands-on leadership role combines operational responsibilities with mentorship duties to maintain high standards across all kitchen functions. The Assistant Kitchen Manager ensures that all culinary operations comply with company policies and local regulations, prioritizes food safety and sanitation, and drives efficiency and consistency to deliver outstanding guest experiences. This position demands a proactive leader who can motivate the team, resolve operational issues promptly, and continually improve kitchen processes. Located in Port Saint Lucie, the role offers competitive compensation in the range of $55,000 to $60,000 annually.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in kitchen positions including food preparation and management
  • active Serve Safe Manager certificate
  • excellent communication and leadership skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • commitment to company standards in cleanliness and service
  • ability to delegate and motivate a team
  • knowledge of kitchen equipment and safety guidelines
  • able to perform all kitchen responsibilities

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in varied kitchen positions including food preparation, line cook, fry cook, and expediter with a minimum of 1 year in a management/supervisor role
  • excellent leadership skills
  • high familiarity with kitchen equipment, processes, and health and safety guidelines
  • able to delegate tasks effectively and assist when needed
  • ability to motivate employees to work as a team to ensure that food and service meet appropriate standards
  • ability to work well in a fast-paced setting and handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities, ability to recommend appropriate solutions
  • must possess good communication skills for dealing with diverse staff
  • active Serve Safe Manager certificate
  • a commitment to achieving company objectives in sales, service, quality, the appearance of facility, sanitation, and cleanliness
  • pleasant, polite manner and a neat and clean appearance
  • must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time

Job Duties

  • Ensure a high standard of service efficiency, sanitation, and training and safety practices
  • ensure compliance with and adhere to operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances
  • ability to perform all responsibilities of each position in the kitchen
  • set up stations and cook menu items in cooperation with the kitchen team
  • responsible for appropriate ticket times, quality and consistency of products, and waste prevention
  • ensure proper plate presentation and adherence to product specifications and recipe guidelines
  • assist with coordinating and production of events and functions
