Tail Gators Brews & Grill is a vibrant dining establishment located in Port St Lucie, FL, known for its welcoming atmosphere and a menu that blends traditional American brews with innovative grill dishes. Situated at 464 Port St Lucie Blvd Unit #103, Tail Gators has developed a strong local following by emphasizing quality food, excellent customer service, and a lively environment perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. The restaurant prides itself on a team-oriented culture, currently employing around 30 dedicated staff members who work collaboratively to create a memorable dining experience for every guest.

We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our dynamic kitchen team. This role is integral to maintaining the efficient operation of the kitchen and ensuring that all culinary standards are met consistently. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with experience in kitchen management or sous chef roles, capable of supporting the head chef in directing kitchen activities, mentoring cooks, and innovating menu options to adapt to customer preferences and business goals. The Assistant Kitchen Manager will play a pivotal role in training and developing the cooks to meet company standards, ensuring a productive kitchen flow, and anticipating ingredient needs to keep inventory well-stocked. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience as a sous chef or in a similar kitchen management role
  • Active Serve Safe Manager certification
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to multitask and handle fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Reliable and self-motivated

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working as a sous chef or chef
  • High familiarity with kitchen equipment, processes, and health and safety guidelines
  • Able to delegate tasks effectively and assist when needed
  • Adaptable to high traffic and kitchen volume
  • Active Serve Safe Manager certification

Job Duties

  • Train and develop cooks to company standards
  • Create new dishes and menus in accordance with business needs
  • Anticipate ingredient needs and arrange re-stock accordingly
  • Ensure a productive kitchen flow that upholds business standards
  • Delegate tasks effectively and assist during high traffic and kitchen volume
