The role of Assistant Kitchen Manager at Oakmont is pivotal in upholding the kitchen's standards and smooth operations. The Assistant Kitchen Manager plays a crucial role in supporting daily back-of-house operations to maintain consistency in food quality and execution. This position involves partnering closely with the Kitchen Manager and leadership team during shifts, reinforcing company policies and operational standards, and providing coaching as well as performance feedback. This role also requires knowledge and enforcement of food safety and handling practices, proper labeling, storage, and organization of food products, and strict adherence to First-In, First-Out practices to reduce waste and maintain quality. Assisting with inventory management, ordering, and menu execution is part of the daily duties. The work environment emphasizes compliance with health, sanitation, and safety standards, along with proper maintenance of kitchen equipment and facilities. Financial and operational support responsibilities include food and beverage cost control and labor management through efficient scheduling and awareness of business levels.
