The Assistant General Manager position within Aramark Sports & Entertainment focuses on managing and leading food and beverage operations in large-scale venue settings. This role involves overseeing multi-million dollar revenue contracts, including concessions, catering, and premium dining services. The position is salaried and bonus eligible based on meeting financial and performance goals. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing operations during major sports events, concerts, catering functions, and other special venue events. This leadership role reports to senior management and involves managing a team of salaried direct reports.
Successful candidates for this role are expected to be best-in-class operation managers who align closely with client expectations, exhibit strong relationship-building skills, and demonstrate financial acumen through data-driven decision-making. They are accountable for delivering excellent guest service while ensuring financial targets are met. Candidates should have extensive experience managing high revenue accounts and possess strong skills in financial analytics and forecasting. A key part of the role is leading a large team of culinary and operations managers in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, driving business development strategies, and developing innovative concepts to grow revenue across multiple food and beverage outlets.
This position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to support event schedules and involves hands-on leadership with a focus on building strong client relationships and maintaining team morale. The role may include physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking, and standing, along with the use of uniforms and personal protective equipment as needed. Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of management experience in large venue or multi-unit food and beverage operations
- Proven experience with financial analytics and forecasting
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical capability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, walking, and standing as required
- Willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment when necessary
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of large venue or multi-unit management experience
- Premium and concessions management experience preferred
- Direct P&L responsibility within a comparably scoped environment
- Ability to lead a large team of culinary and operations managers in a high volume, fast-paced environment
- Ability to lead in a complex environment with focus on client and guest service, entrepreneurship, and business growth
- Passion for food and beverage with ability to identify and develop successful concepts
- Effective communication skills with clients and senior management
- Ability to respond effectively to changing demands
- P&L accountability and/or contract-managed service experience desirable
- Willing to be hands-on with staff and operations and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Full P&L responsibility in regard to food and beverage
- Manage the client relationship at the location while providing hands-on execution and leadership of operations
- Leadership of a large team of managers and workforce throughout multiple units and concepts
- Developing new concepts to increase existing revenue sources for public foods/concessions, premium service, and catering outlets
- Partner with the General Manager and regions District Manager to plan and execute business development strategy for growth
- Recruitment and development of new and existing managers
- Interact successfully with the client, stadium guests, and team members on a regular basis
