Job Description
Dish Society is a renowned restaurant group known for its commitment to serving locally sourced, seasonally inspired dishes that celebrate Texas flavors with a modern twist. Founded by Austinites and University of Texas alumni, the company has earned a reputation for its innovative "fine fast casual" dining experience. This approach elevates the traditional counter service model by offering fresh, chef-driven menus, exceptional coffee programs, and thoughtfully curated beverage selections including handcrafted cocktails, local beers, and select wines. Since its successful launch in Austin's Mueller neighborhood and notable recognition as one of Houston's Top 25 Restaurants and recipient of USA Today's Best Brunch in Texas award, Dish Society is expanding its footprint to Austin's bustling South First Street with plans to continue growing within Texas and potentially beyond.
The management team at Dish Society plays a critical role in maintaining the high standards of excellence that define the brand. This position offers an exciting career opportunity for hospitality professionals who thrive in dynamic environments and are passionate about championing sustainability, supporting local farmers and suppliers, and delivering memorable guest experiences. Management responsibilities include leading and developing staff, enforcing quality and service standards, achieving financial goals, and fostering a positive, productive workplace culture that aligns with Dish Society’s core values of pride, hospitality, growth, and connectedness.
This role requires a commitment to 50-60 hour workweeks, particularly during peak operational times, reflecting the demanding and rewarding nature of restaurant management. The successful candidate will be involved from the ground up, starting early to train and prepare for the opening of the new South First location in February 2025. This phased onboarding provides managers with comprehensive exposure to Dish Society's systems and culture, ensuring they are equipped to lead effectively from day one of service.
The position offers more than just a job—it's an opportunity to be part of an extraordinary culinary journey that blends community involvement, sustainability, and top-tier hospitality. Dish Society values unique personal qualities and passions that managers bring to the team, encouraging individuality alongside professional excellence. Whether you're a hospitality wizard, a sustainability advocate, or someone with a flair for creating exceptional guest experiences, this management role is designed for individuals ready to grow alongside a celebrated Texas culinary brand.
