Job Description
RAM Hotels is a dynamic and thriving hotel management company headquartered in Columbus, Georgia. With a focus on innovation and quality service, RAM Hotels has established itself as a leading force in corporate America's hospitality industry, managing well-known midscale hotel brands in key markets throughout Alabama and Georgia. The company prides itself on its commitment to meeting and exceeding guests' expectations through continuous improvement, innovation, and a family-oriented work culture. RAM Hotels not only provides career advancement opportunities but also fosters a supportive environment where every employee becomes a valued member of the RAM Hotels family.
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) role at RAM Hotels is a pivotal position responsible for coordinating daily property activities and managing hotel personnel in support of the General Manager (GM). The AGM serves as the key point of leadership in the GM's absence, ensuring seamless operational continuity. This role involves collaboration with the GM to elevate service standards and improve the profitability of the hotel, making it integral to the hotel's overall success. The AGM is actively involved in training new team members and overseeing essential departments including the front desk and housekeeping teams.
The Assistant General Manager primarily works the 3pm to 11pm shift but must be flexible to cover additional shifts as needed. Responsibilities encompass assigning and monitoring staff duties to ensure compliance with company policies and established operating procedures. The AGM also manages performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and maintains accurate operational records such as deposits, cleaning schedules, guest requests, and complaints. Maintaining guest satisfaction is a core philosophy for the AGM, who is expected to demonstrate exceptional guest service by responding promptly and courteously to guests’ needs and concerns. The role also requires active promotion of hotel services and local attractions to enhance the guest experience and empower staff to deliver exemplary customer service.
In addition to operational duties, the AGM encourages a positive work environment, fostering responsiveness among hotel staff and ensuring that all new hires meet rigorous service standards. By developing added-value customer service programs, particularly in housekeeping, the AGM contributes to consistent delivery of excellent guest experiences that meet or exceed satisfaction measures. This position also involves community engagement and occasional involvement in government affairs, aligning with RAM Hotels' commitment to corporate social responsibility. Overall, the Assistant General Manager at RAM Hotels plays a critical role in supporting leadership, motivating teams, managing daily operations, and promoting a culture centered around superior guest service and professional growth.
