Job Description
Our client is a distinguished restaurant dedicated to providing exceptional dining experiences. Known for its culinary excellence and commitment to quality service, this establishment cultivates a vibrant atmosphere where guests can enjoy memorable meals in an inviting and hospitable environment. As a respected player in the hospitality sector, the restaurant continually embraces innovation and operational excellence to remain a top destination for diners. It operates with a strong focus on compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both customers and staff. The restaurant values teamwork, integrity, and the professional growth of its associates, fostering a collaborative culture where every team member can thrive and contribute to the overall success of the business.
The role of Assistant General Manager (AGM) is a pivotal leadership position within the restaurant. This full-time, in-person role commands a competitive annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $95,000. The AGM is responsible for the short-term planning and daily operations of both the restaurant and bar, working closely alongside the General Manager to drive operational efficiency and financial performance. The Assistant General Manager’s duties include managing, training, and motivating a team comprising associates and assistant managers, ensuring that this workforce delivers exemplary service standards that elevate the overall dining experience for guests.
Key responsibilities entail enforcing company policies, supervising compliance with all applicable regulations, analyzing financial data such as labor, food, and beverage costs, and controlling budgets to maximize revenue while minimizing expenses. The AGM also plays a strategic role in creating and implementing promotional ideas and marketing initiatives designed to increase customer traffic and improve market share. Exceptional problem-solving skills are required to respond to customer trends, feedback, and concerns swiftly and effectively, thereby fostering a positive rapport with patrons and enhancing future sales.
Physical demands of the role include the ability to regularly lift between 20 to 40 pounds, sustained periods of standing, bending, and mobility throughout the dining and bar areas. The role also requires strong oral and written communication skills, bilingual proficiency in Spanish (required), and knowledge of restaurant practices and procedures to carry out non-repetitive analytical work and make informed decisions within established guidelines. With a robust focus on leadership, operational excellence, and guest satisfaction, the Assistant General Manager’s position is critical in helping maintain the restaurant’s high standards and continued growth in a competitive market.
