Job Description
The hiring establishment is a dynamic and customer-focused restaurant dedicated to providing high-quality food and exceptional service to its guests. Recognized for its commitment to maintaining excellent operational standards and fostering a positive work environment, the restaurant prides itself on delivering a memorable dining experience through a blend of culinary expertise, efficient management, and dedicated team collaboration. As a well-established entity in the hospitality industry, it continuously strives to uphold its reputation by employing skilled professionals who share its passion for excellence and innovation.
This particular role is designed to serve as the 'right-hand' to the General Manager (GM), stepping in to fill all GM functions during the GM's absence and supporting restaurant operations to ensure seamless performance. The position demands a highly versatile and proactive individual capable of managing various aspects of the restaurant, from overseeing team member job performance and managing food and labor costs to ensuring equipment maintenance and inventory control. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiencies, driving sales, maintaining budget targets, and upholding the highest standards of food safety and customer service.
The role goes beyond typical management duties by requiring the person to act as the Kitchen Manager within the Hielan area unless otherwise directed by senior leadership. This includes mastering safe food handling procedures in compliance with local health codes and Steritech standards. The position requires proficiency in implementing the Quarterly Business Plan and actively contributing ideas and strategies in collaboration with the GM. Moreover, this individual serves as a role model for the restaurant's Service 101 and P.A.C.E. management philosophies, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance among team members.
A key element of the role involves daily operational oversight, including cash and point-of-sale accuracy, vendor communication, order management, maintenance checks, and quality control through line checks. Leadership responsibilities extend to mentoring managers and shift leaders, supporting personnel decisions around hiring, promotions, and terminations, and encouraging continuous professional development through training programs. The manager is expected to demonstrate strong communication skills, providing real-time feedback and coaching to team members to ensure consistent guest satisfaction.
In addition to management functions, the individual will occasionally perform hands-on roles such as food server, expo, line cook, service assistant, or food runner to maintain operational fluidity during busy periods. The position emphasizes a vocal and committed leadership style that inspires the team and reinforces the restaurant's commitment to excellence in every shift. This comprehensive role is perfect for an ambitious manager aiming to develop their career within the Hielan Manager Career Development plan and aspire to full General Manager readiness.
