The company believes strongly in meritocracy, where successful career paths can begin from any position, emphasizing that with dedication and hard work, employees can progress from entry-level roles to senior leadership positions. HVMG champions an inclusive and supportive working environment that values team collaboration and professional development.
The Assistant General Manager role at HVMG is a pivotal leadership position within the hotel operations team. As an Assistant General Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the General Manager by overseeing daily hotel operations to ensure smooth functionality and an exceptional guest experience. This means managing multiple departments, helping to control budgets, resolving guest concerns promptly, and driving team performance across the property. Your role will be hands-on, working closely with staff and management teams to uphold the hotel’s standards and operational excellence.
In addition to operational duties, the Assistant General Manager has a clear career advancement pathway. This role is designed as a stepping stone to higher management roles such as General Manager, Operations Manager, and potentially corporate leadership positions within HVMG. The company supports its associates with flexible scheduling, access to earned wages before payday through PayActive, comprehensive paid time off, paid holidays, and full healthcare benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage. Furthermore, the company offers a 401(k) retirement plan with a guaranteed 4% match and no vesting period, along with exclusive hotel and food and beverage discounts.
This role is suitable for candidates with a college degree or at least two years of hotel industry experience. Prior experience in a similar supervisory or assistant management position is highly preferred. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the United States and capable of communicating effectively in English. Physical requirements include the ability to perform various movements such as sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting, with reasonable accommodations when required. Flexibility in working hours, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays, is essential to meet the dynamic needs of the hospitality industry. Above all, the role demands a warm and professional demeanor that embodies HVMG’s Culture of Excellence, ensuring both guest satisfaction and staff motivation are maintained at the highest level.
