The company's success is rooted in its dedication to quality, innovation, and fostering strong relationships with customers, team members, and the communities it serves.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join OTO Development as an Assistant General Manager, a pivotal leadership role within one of its hotels. The Assistant General Manager will play a critical role in driving the operational and financial performance of the property while ensuring high standards of guest satisfaction and employee engagement. The role involves active participation in sales initiatives such as sales calls and site visits alongside the sales team, aiming to acquire new business and close deals, thereby contributing directly to revenue growth.
Beyond sales involvement, the Assistant General Manager is responsible for carefully reviewing financial reports and statements to identify areas of concern and implement strategies to improve performance. They will support and coach hotel team members to manage wages and controllable expenses effectively, ensuring costs related to supplies, labor, utilities, food, and beverage remain within budgeted parameters. Ensuring continuous training in service delivery, technical skills, and other relevant areas across the property is also a key responsibility to maintain and elevate guest experience quality.
The role demands strong leadership through creating and sustaining open, collaborative relationships with team members, fostering an 'open door' policy to encourage feedback and communication. Recruiting individuals who demonstrate expertise, creativity, and leadership potential is critical to building a high-performing team. Monitoring service behaviors and providing constructive feedback to team members and supervisors forms part of the ongoing effort to uphold service excellence.
Analyzing guest feedback from comment cards, surveys, and other data sources will help the Assistant General Manager identify trends and service issues, facilitating the development of innovative solutions to enhance the guest experience. Interfacing with customers directly to obtain real-time feedback on service quality and overall satisfaction is a vital part of this role.
In addition, the Assistant General Manager will ensure the hotel property is well-maintained, with an environment that meets or exceeds guest expectations for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. They will administer policies fairly and consistently and oversee team performance appraisal and recognition programs. The role also includes ensuring compliance with franchise standards and maintaining a safe and secure facility for both guests and team members.
This position requires up to 10% travel outside the local area, including overnight stays, and involves walking and standing for extended periods. Candidates must possess previous hotel management experience demonstrating strong leadership and guest service success, a proven track record in direct sales efforts contributing to at least 50% market mix of total revenues, and solid financial acumen. A minimum of a high school diploma is required, while a college degree is preferred. A valid driver's license and exceptional time management and multitasking skills are necessary to excel in this role.
Working at OTO Development offers competitive pay and an attractive benefits package including medical insurance options, dental and vision insurance, 401k with company match, company-provided life insurance, tuition assistance, paid time off, paid holidays, travel discounts, and more, all designed to support employees' health, financial security, and work-life balance.
