Job Description
Border Foods began as a vision between two brothers eager to bring a unique gourmet Mexican dining experience to their community. Over the years, this vision has evolved into one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees across the United States. Border Foods specializes in fast-casual dining, providing quality food and exceptional customer service while fostering a family-oriented environment. The company prides itself on a set of Core Values that emphasize Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. These values are deeply ingrained in every facet of the organization, guiding the daily actions of cooks, cashiers, restaurant managers, and all employees who contribute to the success of the business.
Border Foods is currently seeking an Assistant Manager to join their team at the Circle Pines, MN location. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about leadership, customer service, and team development within a vibrant restaurant setting. As an Assistant Manager, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in reinforcing the Border Foods Core Values by leading with accountability and integrity while building a positive team culture. The position is full-time and offers competitive pay ranging from $14 to $35 per hour, reflecting experience and performance. This role is designed to unlock employee potential, ensuring a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for both staff and guests.
The Assistant Manager will be responsible for the overall operation of the restaurant, including managing team schedules, supporting employee development, and ensuring that customers consistently receive high-quality food with friendly service. They will be an integral part of creating seamless operational flow, maintaining compliance with health and safety standards, and promoting a culture of recognition and excellence. With access to flexible scheduling, a bonus program with an opportunity to earn up to an extra $20,000 annually, and education programs (including GED and tuition reimbursement), this role offers not only financial rewards but also opportunities for personal and professional growth. Additional benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance available to part-time and full-time employees, paid vacation time, sick leave, holiday pay, and a unique vacation donation program. Employees also enjoy free meals while working and are part of a company culture that encourages continuous learning and career advancement.
The position requires leadership skills that empower team members through active coaching, constructive feedback, and ongoing development opportunities. The Assistant Manager will work closely with Shift Leaders to ensure operational excellence, provide guidance during challenging situations, and represent Border Foods in handling customer feedback with a sincere and solution-oriented approach. This role demands strategic planning to meet short-term and long-term restaurant goals, financial acumen to manage profit and loss statements, and the ability to minimize loss through effective cash handling and labor management. The Assistant Manager must be adaptable, willing to work varied shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require. The physical demands of the role include standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently throughout shifts, with accommodations available if needed. Border Foods is committed to diversity and inclusion, proudly providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified candidates regardless of background or identity. As a franchisee of Taco Bell, the company operates independently, setting its own wage and benefit programs that are competitive within the industry. This makes the Assistant Manager role at Border Foods not only a job but a gateway to a rewarding career in the fast-food franchising business.
