Job Description

Atlas Restaurant Group began its journey in 2010 with a humble deli located in Baltimore’s Harbor East neighborhood. Over the years, it has grown into a prominent hospitality company operating 50 diverse restaurant, bar, and entertainment concepts across the United States. Renowned for its commitment to excellence, the group is guided by strong core values and operating pillars that shape employee leadership, service quality, and operational success. These principles drive every decision from top-level management to front-line staff, enabling Atlas Restaurant Group to deliver unparalleled dining and entertainment experiences that guests have come to expect and appreciate. The company fosters a workplace culture that values employee development, mentorship, and innovation, creating a dynamic and supportive environment for its teams.

Atlas Restaurant Group is currently seeking an Assistant General Manager to join the team at The Valley Inn, a key establishment within its portfolio. This full-time position offers an annual salary range of $70,000 to $80,000, reflecting the responsibility and expertise required. The Assistant General Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the General Manager in managing the restaurant’s operations, spanning both the front and back of house. The ideal candidate will be deeply involved in overseeing daily restaurant functions, staff management, financial record-keeping, and guest services, ensuring top-tier standards are consistently met.

In this role, the Assistant General Manager acts as a pivotal leadership figure, often stepping in to manage the overall operations in the General Manager’s absence. Responsibilities include supervising both front of house and back of house teams, maintaining the restaurant’s upkeep, managing wine and liquor inventories, and participating actively in marketing efforts to attract business. The position demands strong organizational capabilities, financial acumen in handling invoices and daily sales forecasting, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key aspects of this role involve mentoring and guiding diverse staff members from various departments, demonstrating leadership that fosters a positive and productive work culture. The Assistant General Manager is expected to possess comprehensive knowledge of culinary practices, dietary restrictions, and beverage offerings, including wines and craft cocktails. The role requires flexibility, managing schedules that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.

Joining the Atlas Restaurant Group means becoming part of a fast-growing company with a strong commitment to Baltimore and its communities. Employees benefit from direct interaction with ownership and senior management, alongside ample opportunities for career growth and professional development. The company offers competitive compensation, extensive benefits, and a supportive environment that recognizes and rewards dedication and hard work. Candidates who relish dynamic challenges and aim to elevate their restaurant management career will find this an exciting and rewarding opportunity.
