The Assistant Floor Manager is essential to maintaining the integrity and availability of all products within the warehouse. This role ensures that inventory is always stocked and properly maintained in compliance with the company's freshness policies and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines, which are fundamental to food safety and quality control. The Assistant Floor Manager is also tasked with fostering strong relationships with customers, aiming to meet or exceed sales goals while minimizing losses through operational efficiencies and quality control.

This includes offering friendly, efficient service marked by sincerity, patience, and respect during all customer interactions. Excellent communication skills are vital as the role frequently requires responding timely to customer inquiries and needs.
The role involves operating warehouse equipment such as box cutters, knives, scales, compactors, hi-lift trucks, scooters, and scissor lifts while adhering to OSHA safety guidelines. Product handling must consistently follow HACCP procedures with a focus on maintaining the “Always Fresh” mentality. The Assistant Floor Manager also takes responsibility for product presentation, rotation, labeling, and replenishment, ensuring that all merchandise is appealingly displayed and readily available.
Inventory management is another crucial function of this position. Regular cycle counts are conducted to monitor stock levels, helping maintain a balanced inventory that supports uninterrupted sales. The Assistant Floor Manager should possess comprehensive knowledge of warehouse equipment usage and demonstrate high operational proficiency. They are expected to ensure consistent adherence to all department operating procedures and corporate audits.
Additionally, the Assistant Floor Manager applies advanced selling skills, employing suggestive selling techniques to boost sales. They also vigilantly monitor product quality, addressing code dating issues and identifying shrink opportunities to reduce losses. This position requires effective planning to accomplish all assigned tasks within scheduled shifts while maintaining high cleanliness standards throughout the warehouse.
The Assistant Floor Manager also plays a cooperative role in human resources functions by assisting the department manager with interviewing, hiring, and scheduling. Compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, company policies, and food safety regulations is mandatory. Reporting irregularities such as fraud, theft, or illegal activities is part of the responsibility to safeguard the company’s assets and reputation. This role may involve assisting team members and supporting other warehouse areas as needed.
Physically, the role demands substantial stamina, requiring walking and standing on concrete floors for up to 10 hours a day. Tasks include frequent turning, reaching, stooping, bending, and pushing or pulling heavy objects weighing between 500 to 1,500 pounds, alongside lifting or carrying loads exceeding 60 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to cold or freezing temperatures and active equipment such as forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and scooters.
Joining Restaurant Depot as an Assistant Floor Manager offers the opportunity to be part of a respected company with a strong mission and dynamic work environment. Candidates can expect a comprehensive benefit package including medical, vision, and dental insurance, company-matched 401K, paid vacation, sick and personal time off, and bonus opportunities.
