Job Description

Restaurant Depot is a wholesale cash-and-carry foodservice distributor dedicated to supporting independent restaurants, caterers, and not-for-profit organizations across the United States. As a privately-owned, multi-billion-dollar company operating more than 150 warehouses and distribution centers in 37 states, Restaurant Depot’s mission is to provide its customers with unrivaled Savings, Selection, and Service seven days a week. The company supplies the right products at competitive prices in the exact quantities customers need, establishing itself as a premier provider in the wholesale foodservice distribution industry.

The role of the Assistant Floor Manager is a vital position within Restaurant Depot's dynamic Floor Department, reporting directly to the Floor Manager. This full-time, hourly role involves 8-10 hour shifts with eligibility for overtime. The Assistant Floor Manager plays a key role in maintaining the operation’s high standards by ensuring all available products are properly displayed for sale, adhering to strict freshness policies guided by both company standards and HACCP regulations. This position is essential in developing strong customer relationships aimed at driving sales, minimizing losses, and fostering mutually beneficial connections.

The Assistant Floor Manager works in collaboration with the Floor Manager to maintain the warehouse's operational excellence. Communication skills are crucial to listen, address customer questions, and respond promptly to their needs. Operational duties include the safe handling and operation of warehouse equipment such as box cutters, knives, scales, compactors, forklifts, and scissor lifts, following all OSHA and company guidelines.

The role demands leadership capabilities including assisting with interviewing, hiring, scheduling, and training team members. It requires a proactive approach to managing work duties within each shift to ensure assigned tasks are accomplished efficiently. The Assistant Floor Manager must also be vigilant about product quality, shrink reduction, and detecting issues with code dating.

Working at Restaurant Depot means being part of a fast-paced warehouse environment that involves physical labor like walking or standing for up to 10 hours on concrete floors, frequent lifting or carrying items over 60 pounds, and pushing or pulling heavy objects. Employees are also exposed to cold or freezing temperatures and active warehouse equipment, necessitating adherence to strict safety standards.

Overall, the Assistant Floor Manager is a pivotal link in the daily operations of Restaurant Depot, ensuring products are handled and presented with care while fostering an environment conducive to excellent customer service and safe work practices.
