The role of Assistant Floor Manager at Restaurant Depot is a full-time, hourly position involving 8-10 hour shifts with overtime opportunities. Reporting directly to the Floor Manager, the Assistant Floor Manager plays a critical role in maintaining the operational flow of the warehouse floor and in supporting the overall mission of providing superior product availability and customer satisfaction.

This position requires a blend of leadership, operational oversight, and hands-on involvement in daily warehouse activities. The Assistant Floor Manager is responsible for supervising product displays, managing inventory counts, and ensuring compliance with company freshness policies and safety regulations. They work closely with team members to foster a collaborative atmosphere that promotes teamwork and enhances customer relationships.

Key responsibilities also include equipment operation, product handling in accordance with HACCP guidelines, and active customer interaction to respond to questions and enhance the shopping experience. The Assistant Floor Manager is entrusted with upholding product quality standards, minimizing shrink through vigilant oversight, and utilizing sales skills to boost product sales effectively.

Additionally, the role involves assisting with hiring, interviewing, and scheduling to build and maintain a capable team. The Assistant Floor Manager ensures that all department operating procedures are executed to the company’s standards and helps maintain cleanliness and safety protocols throughout the warehouse. This role demands the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment with exposure to cold temperatures and the use of various warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in warehouse or retail environment preferred
  • ability to lift and carry objects over 60 lbs
  • ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for up to 10 hours per day
  • ability to operate warehouse equipment safely
  • availability to work 8-10 hour shifts including overtime
  • compliance with food safety and OSHA regulations
  • ability to work in cold and freezing temperatures
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant, safe working and shopping environment
  • provide friendly and efficient customer service by demonstrating sincerity, patience, and respect in all customer interactions
  • effectively communicate with customers and respond to questions and requests in a timely manner
  • operate equipment such as box cutters, knives, scales, compactors, hi-los, scooters, and scissor lifts according to company and OSHA guidelines
  • follow basic product handling procedures in accordance with company and HACCP policy, always working with an 'Always Fresh' mentality
  • assist with product presentation, rotation, labeling, and replenishment
  • ensure in-stock position of available product while monitoring inventory levels through frequent cycle counts
