Job Description

Cooper's Hawk is a distinguished hospitality company known for its unique blend of a Napa-style tasting room, wine-inspired retail, a full-service restaurant, bar, and an event space that together create a modern, casual dining experience. Established in 2005, Cooper's Hawk has brought the essence of Napa Valley to its customers and Wine Club members, combining exquisite award-winning wines with culinary innovation. The brand is not only recognized for its exceptional wines but also for its expansive Wine Club, which is among the largest globally, offering exclusive benefits such as curated dining and travel experiences. The company has also expanded its culinary presence through Piccolo Buco by Cooper's Hawk, a concept that highlights the vibrant flavors of Rome. Cooper's Hawk is dedicated to building a distinctive lifestyle brand focused on delivering memorable guest experiences and fostering a passionate community of wine and food enthusiasts.

The role of an Assistant Executive Kitchen Supervisor at Cooper's Hawk is pivotal in leading a high-volume scratch kitchen where culinary creativity meets operational excellence. This position involves partnering closely with the Executive Kitchen Manager to maintain and elevate the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and safety. The Assistant Executive Kitchen Supervisor plays a vital role in mentoring and inspiring the kitchen team, focusing on leadership, training, and execution. The role demands a proactive approach to overseeing kitchen operations, managing Kitchen Managers and Team Members across various stations, reviewing schedules, and effectively utilizing operational tools such as POS systems, scheduling software, and inventory management systems. Responsibilities include conducting line checks, drafting prep lists, managing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Additionally, this role involves active participation in the hiring process of hourly kitchen Team Members and providing side-by-side training to promote their development and performance. The Assistant Executive Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for ensuring food preparation standards and consistency while optimizing financial outcomes through weekly inventory management. Communication and teamwork are emphasized for seamless service, requiring the facilitation of communication between kitchen and front-of-house operations. The position includes leading community meetings, mentoring Managers, collaborating with Executive Kitchen and General Managers to drive performance, and executing special events such as themed Wine Club dinners.

A critical aspect of the role is cultivating a respectful and positive kitchen culture that embodies Cooper's Hawk values. This involves supporting the growth and retention of Kitchen Managers and Team Members through mentorship, leading by example to promote pride in culinary excellence, attention to detail, and generating memorable guest experiences. Celebrating team achievements and milestones is also an integral part of fostering a cohesive and motivated team environment. This position requires a strong work ethic, flexible availability including weekends and holidays, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards. Cooper's Hawk offers a comprehensive benefits package and career development opportunities to support the growth and well-being of its team members.
