Job Description
Cooper's Hawk is a distinctive lifestyle brand that combines the best of Napa Valley dining with a rich wine culture. Established in 2005, Cooper's Hawk features a Napa-style tasting room offering a wine-inspired retail experience alongside a modern, casual full-service restaurant, bar, and private event spaces. The company's focus is on providing an exceptional dining atmosphere that pairs innovative scratch-kitchen menu items meticulously designed to complement their award-winning wines. The Cooper's Hawk Wine Club is recognized as one of the largest and most exclusive in the world, offering members unique benefits such as curated dining and travel experiences, underscoring the brand's commitment to delivering unparalleled hospitality and lifestyle offerings. Recently, Cooper's Hawk expanded its culinary range further with Piccolo Buco, which introduces the vibrant flavors of Rome, adding an exciting dimension to their already rich and varied menu. This combination of culinary excellence, wine appreciation, and immersive experiences exemplifies Cooper's Hawk's dedication to creating memorable moments for its guests and Wine Club members. Cooper's Hawk is also deeply committed to fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring diversity, equity, and inclusion, positioning itself as an equal opportunity employer. They provide reasonable accommodations throughout the employment process and maintain comprehensive benefits designed to support the well-being of their team members. The Assistant Executive Kitchen Manager role at Cooper's Hawk is an integral leadership position within their high-volume, scratch kitchen environment. This position offers an outstanding opportunity to partner with the Executive Kitchen Manager to uphold and elevate culinary standards, ensuring exceptional food quality, consistency, and safety. The role is a blend of operational responsibility, team leadership, and creative contribution to deliver an outstanding guest experience. Key responsibilities include directing kitchen operations across various stations including dish, prep, and line, utilizing tools such as POS systems and inventory management software to maintain smooth and efficient processes. The Assistant Executive Kitchen Manager is expected to conduct line checks, develop prep lists, and oversee inventory control while maintaining health and food safety standards. A critical part of the role involves training and coaching the culinary team, leading new menu rollouts, and executing system initiatives. The role demands a hands-on leadership style, with active participation in hiring, mentoring, and performance development of team members. The candidate must facilitate strong communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams, partner with managers to align goals, and take accountability for financial outcomes through inventory and cost control management. The position also includes involvement in special events execution, such as the monthly themed Wine Club dinners. Cooper's Hawk places a strong emphasis on creating a positive and respectful work environment that fosters professional growth and excellence, encouraging the Assistant Executive Kitchen Manager to lead by example and celebrate team achievements. This position requires a dynamic individual with a passion for culinary arts, operational expertise, and proven leadership skills to thrive in a fast-paced, high-standard kitchen. It offers a comprehensive benefits package, inclusive of medical, dental, vision, and wellness programs, a 401(k) plan with company match, discounts, paid parental leave, and more, making it an attractive opportunity for career advancement in the hospitality industry.
