Job Description
NightGarden at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is South Florida's celebrated holiday tradition that has captivated audiences for six successful seasons and is now returning for its seventh year. This unique event transforms the beautiful Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Coral Gables into a magical nighttime experience featuring an enchanting combination of mesmerizing lighting effects, synchronized music, and interactive installations. Visitors to this event enjoy strolling through the themed garden pathways where they can marvel at one-of-a-kind sculptures, engage with a talking tree, and experience numerous other captivating attractions designed to delight guests of all ages. As one of Miami’s standout holiday experiences, NightGarden draws thousands of guests each year who come to enjoy its festive atmosphere and immersive artistry in a scenic outdoor setting.
The current opportunity is for a dynamic team leader who will oversee the operations and guest service delivery during the NightGarden event, which spans from mid-November through early January 2027. This position is essential in maintaining the exceptional visitor experience and efficient event operation throughout the season. The role entails supervising and coaching staff members to maximize their performance and ensure top-notch guest interactions. The ideal candidate will manage vendor relationships critical to the event’s success and act as the first point of contact for guest concerns, safety issues, and incident documentation. Working shifts typically run from late afternoon into the night, with weekday hours from 4pm to 11pm and weekend shifts extending to 12:30am, reflecting the nature of an evening event held outdoors in a botanical garden setting.
Candidates should be prepared to engage with visitors warmly, provide directions using event maps, oversee the integrity and functioning of installations, and help maintain a safe and enjoyable environment by spotting potential safety hazards or disruptions. Given the outdoor and nighttime aspects of the role, the candidate must be comfortable standing or walking for extended periods and working in large group settings. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of Spanish or other languages is an advantage. Reliable transportation to Coral Gables is necessary, as is flexibility to work up to 45 hours per week including weekends, evenings, and holidays. This position offers full-time, part-time, and temporary employment options with a pay starting at $1,000 per week. Applicants passionate about hospitality and event management are encouraged to apply by submitting their resumes via the provided email contact. This role not only contributes to a beloved cultural event but also offers valuable experience in event leadership and customer service in a vibrant, festive environment.
