The Assistant Director of Housekeeping position at Montage International is a vital leadership role within the hotel operations team. This role focuses on overseeing the daily functions of the Housekeeping department, ensuring that cleanliness and maintenance standards align with the hotel's premium service expectations. Reporting directly to the Director of Housekeeping, the Assistant Director supports strategic planning and operational execution, making sure the housekeeping services effectively contribute to guest satisfaction and overall hotel success. The Assistant Director of Housekeeping is responsible for coordinating with other hotel departments to enhance communication and guest services. The role also involves training and developing housekeeping associates to maximize productivity and uphold the Motel's commitment to quality. Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • three plus years experience in housekeeping within an upscale hotel
  • ability to walk stand bend stoop squat stretch and lift up to 25 lbs regularly
  • manual dexterity and stamina for repetitive motions and mobility
  • intermediate Microsoft Office skills including Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook
  • budgetary analysis skills
  • good verbal and written communication
  • knowledge of housekeeping service techniques and cost controls

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • three plus years experience in housekeeping within an upscale hotel
  • basic computational ability
  • intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook Opera preferred
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • budgetary analysis capabilities
  • knowledge of housekeeping service techniques and cost controls such as manpower productivity and expenses

Job Duties

  • Focusing on the long term vision and direction of the department including implementing improvements and projects
  • conducting regular inspections of the hotel to ensure adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards
  • coordinating department activities with other departments to facilitate increased communication and guest satisfaction
  • ensuring all equipment is maintained and used accordingly
  • following up on maintenance requests pertaining to guest rooms and departmental equipment
  • assisting with financial performance including budgeting forecasting and planning
  • monitoring consumption and ordering replacement of guest and cleaning supplies and reporting discrepancies
  • assisting with monthly inventory
  • filling in for Room Attendants and Floor Supervisor if needed
  • managing selection training and development of associates focusing on productivity and satisfaction
  • providing seamless employee relations with contracted associates
  • establishing and maintaining safe working conditions
  • acting on assignments from the Director of Housekeeping
  • creating appropriate relationships with all levels of hotel associates
