Pyramid Global Hospitality boasts a portfolio that includes more than 200 hotels and resorts, supported by over 18,000 associates committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences. The organization combines global reach with a hands-on approach that prioritizes operational excellence, exceptional service, and long-lasting partnerships, with corporate offices in Boston, The Woodlands, Texas, and London.
Boston Marriott Newton is situated in the scenic town of Newton, Massachusetts, along the picturesque banks of the Charles River. This premier property features 430 well-appointed guest rooms and offers a sprawling 34,090 square feet of versatile meeting space, making it an ideal venue for business conferences, social events, and leisure stays. The hotel fosters a supportive work environment focused on growth, development, and collaboration, where team members thrive in a culture of professionalism and hospitality excellence.
The Assistant Director of Front Office plays a pivotal role within the Boston Marriott Newton team, responsible for leading front office operations with a focus on delivering personalized, high-quality guest service. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $80,000, reflecting the importance of the role in maintaining the hotel's standard of excellence.
In this role, the Assistant Director of Front Office is entrusted with providing leadership and supervision to the Concierge, PBX, Night Audit, and Front Desk teams. Responsibilities include coaching, training, and holding staff accountable to Marriott's rigorous service standards to create a consistent and welcoming guest experience. The position requires proactive engagement with team members to foster a culture of excellence, operational efficiency, and genuine hospitality. The Assistant Director is also charged with managing labor costs, payroll, supplies, and ensuring seamless communication across departments to meet guest expectations effectively.
This role demands a hands-on leader who is visible and accessible both to guests and associates, capable of handling guest concerns promptly and upholding the hotel’s standards of service and presentation. The Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing training programs, ensuring they are implemented and documented, and for leading monthly department meetings to maintain clear communication and align team goals. Additional duties include collaborating closely with the Director of Front Office and Director of Operations, forecasting the needs of VIP guests, and empowering the team to take ownership of guest satisfaction and recovery when issues arise.
Candidates for this position should bring a minimum of five years in management or supervisory roles within full-service hotel environments, demonstrating superior communication and customer service skills. The ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays, coupled with excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities, is essential. The role requires a professional demeanor, strong computer skills, and an enthusiasm for delivering exceptional hospitality service daily.
Boston Marriott Newton, supported by Pyramid Global Hospitality's commitment to diversity and inclusion, offers an enriching career path in the hospitality industry. Employees benefit from a collaborative atmosphere with opportunities for personal and professional growth, comprehensive training, and the chance to work in an award-winning organization recognized for service excellence and workplace culture. Join Boston Marriott Newton to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to creating memorable guest experiences and advancing careers in hospitality.
