Job Description
Floor & Decor is a leading specialty retailer in the home improvement sector, focusing primarily on hard surface flooring and related accessories. With a robust footprint across numerous locations, the company is dedicated to providing top-quality products alongside unparalleled customer service to homeowners, contractors, and designers. Floor & Decor prides itself on its commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and a customer-first approach, building a vibrant work culture that values growth, teamwork, and career advancement opportunities for its employees. The company fosters an environment where individuals are encouraged to excel by leveraging their skills and knowledge to meet customer needs effectively while contributing to the overall success of the brand.
This position, Product Sales Specialist Trainer, plays a crucial role within Floor & Decor’s retail operations by focusing on the growth and development of the Product Sales Specialists team. The trainer is responsible for ensuring that customers receive exceptional service and accurate product information, which directly impacts customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. By training and mentoring specialists, this role promotes consistency in retail standards, adherence to company policies, and a strong understanding of product knowledge and merchandising techniques. The role requires a dynamic individual who is able to teach company philosophies, such as the basic P's of retail—People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, Promotion, and Purchasing—while simultaneously maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming showroom environment.
The Product Sales Specialist Trainer's responsibilities extend from leading by example in customer engagement to ensuring all team members complete necessary certification courses and comply with safety standards, including forklift operation certification. They will manage inventory communication, oversee merchandising and pricing, and collaborate closely with management to respond to operational needs effectively. This position demands proficiency in multitasking in a fast-paced setting, strong communication skills, and a willingness to work within the company's store hours, including weekends. Additionally, this role benefits from an individual physically able to perform moderate exertion tasks, including lifting and moving merchandise frequently throughout the workday.
Working at Floor & Decor offers employees a comprehensive benefits package that supports both their professional growth and personal well-being. This includes bonus programs, 401k with company match, employee stock purchase plans, and referral incentives designed to support long-term financial stability. Health-related benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and life insurance are available based on eligibility, alongside generous paid time off policies including vacation, sick leave, holidays, and volunteer time off from day one. Floor & Decor values equal employment opportunities and is committed to creating a diverse workforce where everyone is treated with respect and fairness, regardless of legally protected characteristics. This commitment underscores the company’s dedication to a safe and inclusive workplace where all associates can thrive and contribute to the company’s mission of excellence in home improvement retail.
