The company prioritizes cooking from scratch to provide high-quality, nutritious meals to its customers while maintaining eco-friendly practices that support community and environmental well-being. This approach not only fosters a deeper connection to food but also aligns with broader goals of sustainability and health in the foodservice industry.

The Assistant Cafe Manager will act as a key leader in the cafe’s daily operations, working closely with the Cafe Manager to ensure smooth workflows, a motivated workforce, and outstanding guest satisfaction.
This role requires a hands-on management style where the individual will be responsible for upholding Bon Appetit’s high standards regarding food quality, freshness, and presentation alongside regulatory compliance with local health department policies. Safety is a cornerstone of Bon Appetit’s operations, and the Assistant Cafe Manager must champion this every day by rigorously managing workplace and food safety protocols including allergen management and ensuring compliance with corporate safety standards. The role involves conducting safety meetings, inspections, and maintaining strict adherence to operational safety guidelines to protect guests and employees alike.
Financial stewardship is equally important as the Assistant Cafe Manager will oversee budgetary responsibilities, aiming for operational efficiency without compromising service quality. Administrative duties such as timely payroll processing, service reporting, and human resources documentation are also key facets of the job.
The position demands proficiency with digital tools and systems for ordering, menu updates, and customer service requests, highlighting the company’s commitment to leveraging technology for seamless operations. Additionally, excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit are essential, as the Assistant Cafe Manager will liaise with the Cafe Manager and client stakeholders to meet and exceed cafe objectives.
