The Assistant Beverage Manager position at Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino is an integral role focused on supporting the daily management and strategic oversight of the resort's beverage operations. Working under the direction of the Director of Beverage, this role involves supervising various aspects of the beverage department, including bars, service bars, and overall beverage services. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enhancing guest satisfaction through exceptional service, optimizing beverage revenue, managing labor efficiency, and ensuring compliance with responsible alcohol service standards. This position operates within a high-volume gaming environment, where attention to detail, leadership, and adaptability are critical.

Responsibilities include providing operational leadership to Beverage Supervisors, Bartenders, and Casino Floor Servers, promoting a culture of excellence aligned with the resort's values and guest service expectations. The Assistant Beverage Manager ensures that all beverage operations maintain stringent service standards, inventory controls, and adherence to health and safety regulations. This role demands proactive oversight of staffing levels, inventory management, and coordination with other casino departments such as Security, Cage, and Surveillance to ensure seamless floor operations.

Additional duties involve collaborating with marketing and food and beverage leadership to implement drink promotions and special events that boost guest engagement and increase revenue streams. The position also encompasses team development tasks such as interviewing, onboarding, training, and performance management of the beverage staff. A strong emphasis is placed on regulatory compliance with Tribal Gaming Commission mandates, Washington State liquor laws, and internal policies.

This part-time position requires flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events, reflecting the round-the-clock nature of the casino environment. Candidates must possess a valid gaming license and MAST certification or be willing to obtain them promptly. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three years of beverage operations experience in a high-volume casino, resort, or multi-outlet hospitality environment
  • At least one year in a supervisory capacity
  • Experience managing bars and casino floor service in a gaming environment preferred
  • Willing and available to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license and MAST certification
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Working knowledge of beverage cost controls, labor deployment, and inventory management
  • Ability to analyze operational data such as sales, guest counts, and labor metrics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Promote and support a culture of excellence by modeling STRC values and delivering exceptional guest service
  • Assist the Director of Beverage in directing daily beverage operations to ensure efficient service flow, guest satisfaction, and achievement of revenue and profitability goals
  • Supervise, coach, and develop Beverage Supervisors and front-line beverage staff including bartenders, barbacks, and casino floor servers to maintain consistent service standards and compliance with alcohol service regulations
  • Monitor daily staffing levels, shift coverage, and floor deployment to meet fluctuating guest demand in a 24/7 casino environment
  • Oversee beverage inventories, par levels, ordering processes, and cost control measures to ensure proper stock levels and minimal waste
  • Evaluate outlet performance through guest satisfaction feedback, sales trends, labor usage, and operational metrics, and recommend adjustments to improve results
  • Ensure all beverage areas maintain cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and adherence to health and safety standards
  • Enforce responsible alcohol service practices and ensure team members maintain required certifications and training compliance
  • Collaborate with Marketing and F&B leadership on drink promotions, special events, and seasonal beverage programs to enhance guest engagement and revenue
  • Participate in interviewing, onboarding, training, performance observations, corrective action, and team member development planning for beverage staff
  • Ensure compliance with all internal controls, Tribal Gaming Commission regulations, WA State liquor laws, and company policies related to beverage operations
  • Maintain strong communication with Security, Cage, Surveillance, and other departments to support seamless casino floor operations
  • Demonstrate dependability and reliability by maintaining regular, punctual attendance and consistently fulfilling assigned responsibilities
  • Create, maintain, and facilitate a positive and safe work environment
  • promote healthy team member relations and report concerns to appropriate personnel
  • Perform other duties as assigned
