Job Description
Blue Skies of Texas Senior Living Community is a distinguished and well-established provider of senior living services based in San Antonio, Texas. Established originally as Air Force Village I in 1970 and later expanded with Air Force Village II in 1987, the community was initially designed to serve officers of the armed forces, offering a retirement lifestyle enriched with camaraderie and a strong sense of community bonding. Over time, Blue Skies of Texas has evolved to welcome a broader range of retired seniors, including those from civilian careers, broadening its reach and impact while maintaining its core values and mission. The two campuses, now known as Blue Skies East and Blue Skies West, continue to provide high-quality residences with an array of senior-focused amenities and services that promote well-being, independence, and social engagement.
The community prides itself on fostering an inclusive environment that respects and values the unique perspectives, backgrounds, and talents of its team members. This culture supports the delivery of exceptional care to residents, focusing on creating a vibrant, supportive, and family-like atmosphere where seniors feel safe, respected, and empowered in their daily lives. Central to Blue Skies of Texas's mission is the commitment to the holistic care of seniors, addressing their physical, emotional, and social needs through comprehensive programs offered within their Assisted Living, Dementia & Alzheimer Care, Hospice, and Skilled Nursing facilities.
The role of Resident Associate at Blue Skies of Texas is vital within the Arnold House Assisted Living team. This position requires compassionate, dedicated individuals prepared to assist seniors who are functionally, physically, or socially impaired and require 24-hour oversight. Resident Associates help residents with activities of daily living that they cannot perform independently, all while promoting each resident's freedom of choice and independence to the greatest extent possible. Employees in this role conduct their responsibilities with sensitivity and professionalism consistent with the philosophy of assisted living. This position offers flexible shift availability covering weekend and weekday shifts, including 7-3 PM, 3-11 PM, and 11-7 AM.
Blue Skies of Texas values their employees and supports them with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance. Unique offerings such as employer-paid short-term disability for full-time employees, tuition reimbursement and scholarship programs, employee assistance programs, referral bonuses, a generous paid time off program, and retirement plans exemplify their dedication to employee well-being and professional development. By joining Blue Skies of Texas, candidates become part of a community committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, helping them live with dignity and joy. This role is ideal for people who are passionate about senior care and want to contribute to a team where compassion and respect are paramount.
