Job Description

Valet Living is a leading service provider in the multifamily residential industry, specializing in waste management solutions including nightly waste, recycling, and compost collection services. With a commitment to environmental responsibility and community enhancement, Valet Living focuses on delivering superior service experiences through dedicated teams and innovative operational practices. As a company, Valet Living emphasizes career growth, community impact, and a culture of excellence, making it a distinguished employer in this sector. This field-based role offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with multiple multi-family communities, supporting sustainability initiatives and operational efficiency in real-time environments.

The Area Leader position at Valet Living plays a pivotal role in maintaining and elevating service quality across numerous communities. Offering a competitive pay range of $21.50 to $23 per hour, this position combines fieldwork with remote administrative tasks, maintaining a balanced work environment that is approximately 70% field-based and 30% remote. Employees are provided with a company vehicle, facilitating efficient travel between properties. The work schedule primarily encompasses evening hours from Sunday through Thursday, 6:00 PM to 12:30 AM, including two flexible hours within an eight-hour shift to accommodate varying business needs.

This role requires supervising a team of 15 to 40 part-time Service Valets across 20 to 40 multi-family communities. Responsibilities entail onboarding, training, and ongoing coaching of the Service Valets to ensure waste, recycling, and compost collection services are delivered safely, punctually, and with the highest standards. The Area Leader also manages scheduling logistics, approves timecards, and oversees budget adherence, fostering a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Performance is closely monitored through advanced technology tools such as the iValet dashboard, helping the leader make data-driven decisions and swiftly address resident or property concerns.

Beyond supervision and operational oversight, the Area Leader supports key daily administrative tasks. This includes assisting with hiring, distributing supplies, collaborating with Operations Managers on staffing and cost management, and undertaking special projects or service recovery efforts. An additional responsibility involves overseeing company vehicle maintenance and ensuring that all fleet safety standards are diligently met.

The ideal candidate possesses at least one year of supervisory experience in a hands-on environment and is highly organized, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and adaptability to new digital platforms are essential. Strong analytical skills enable the leader to interpret reports effectively and make strategic decisions. Clear communication skills and the ability to solve problems quickly are critical for success in this dynamic role. Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED and have a valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles safely.

Physically, the position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, walk long distances including stairs, and work outdoors under varying weather conditions, while being tolerant of disagreeable odors that are inherent to the nature of the job.

Valet Living prides itself on its comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees and their families, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k with company match, paid time off, professional development opportunities, and numerous additional perks.
