The role of Area General Manager for an exclusive airline lounge portfolio at Miami International Airport (MIA) offers an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the premium food and beverage operations within multiple luxury lounges. Reporting to the District Manager, this position is strategically pivotal in ensuring the delivery of seamless, high-quality guest experiences that align with both SodexoMagic’s standards and its clients’ expectations. The lounges feature elegant buffets, well-appointed bar services, and other premium amenities designed to provide travelers with comfort, convenience, and a sense of exclusivity. This role demands leadership that is both visionary and hands-on, cultivating strong team dynamics among salaried managers and frontline associates, while also managing key operational elements such as staffing, financial goals, inventory control, and compliance with airport regulations.

The Area General Manager acts as the primary liaison for airport and airline partners, building and maintaining robust, long-term client relationships that foster trust and collaboration. This role involves developing and implementing strategies that drive profitability, enhance operational performance, and promote continuous improvements in service quality, safety, and cleanliness. Beyond operational oversight, the position emphasizes a culture of inclusiveness and professional development by offering training and growth opportunities to the entire team. Job Requirements

  • Minimum education requirement - bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum management experience – 5 years
  • Minimum functional experience – 5 years
  • Ability to communicate fluently in Spanish
  • Proven senior-level food and beverage operations experience
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of P&L cost controls budgets and inventory management
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Prior senior-level food and beverage operations experience within high-volume luxury dining venues such as cruise ships luxury or boutique hotels or premium airport lounges
  • Proven track record providing the highest levels of guest service satisfaction
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish with ability to communicate effectively in Spanish
  • Executive presence strong communication skills and client-focused abilities
  • Experience leading and directing large teams of salaried managers and frontline associates within multi-lounge operations
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs

Job Duties

  • Lead and manage all aspects of lounge operations at MIA including overseeing staffing financial management inventory and guest services to ensure seamless high-quality lounge experiences
  • Build and maintain strong long-term client relationships serving as the main point of contact for airport and airline partners
  • Implement strategies to drive profitability achieve financial goals and manage costs effectively
  • Develop and execute plans to enhance operational performance including safety cleanliness and customer satisfaction
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture by providing leadership training and development opportunities for both salaried and hourly employees
  • Ensure compliance with all airport regulations safety protocols and Sodexo's mission and values
  • Serve as a key partner in client meetings and business reviews aligning operational goals with client expectations to maximize satisfaction and partnership growth
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality operational efficiency and guest experience
