Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a dynamic fast-casual restaurant chain dedicated to cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made with wholesome ingredients free from artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Established as a leader and innovator in the food industry, Chipotle operates across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. The company uniquely owns and operates all its restaurants in North America and Europe, underscoring its commitment to quality, sustainability, and customer experience. Chipotle is renowned for challenging the conventional fast food industry by focusing on transparency, environmental stewardship, and supporting sustainable farming practices. This ethos creates a brand that is not only about food but also about making a positive impact locally and globally.
Chipotle is currently seeking an Apprentice Facilities Specialist to support the operations and upkeep of its restaurant locations within an assigned region. This role is pivotal in ensuring that locations provide a world-class food safety environment and an excellent guest experience through diligent maintenance and repair work. The position offers a base pay range of $18.26 to $23.32 per hour, with the opportunity for annual cash bonuses and equity awards depending on performance and other factors. The company embraces a comprehensive total rewards package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k, sick leave, vacation time, and more.
As an Apprentice Facilities Specialist, you will conduct preventative maintenance site audits, respond promptly to reactionary service requests, and collaborate with both local and national vendors to maintain the high standards expected at Chipotle restaurants. This role demands a mechanically inclined individual capable of learning diverse trades to increase in-house repair capabilities. The position also includes managing budgets for maintenance and repairs, sourcing and tracking inventory parts, handling administrative tasks such as mileage and Pcards, and partnering with regional leadership to align on purpose and vision. Additionally, the specialist will work with Facilities Managers to identify capital improvements, obtain quotes, and ensure the quality of installations.
Chipotle encourages independence, strong organizational skills, and effective communication via email or phone within this role, which may require overnight travel and the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently use ladders. The role welcomes applicants with 0 to 1 year of related experience, preferably with a background in the restaurant industry, and certifications such as EPA are a plus. Chipotle's culture values diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the company is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified individuals.
Joining Chipotle means becoming part of a forward-thinking organization that not only serves delicious, wholesome food but also actively participates in shaping sustainable food sourcing and restaurant operations. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a company that values innovation, integrity, and making better food accessible to everyone while advancing your career in facilities management within the vibrant fast-casual dining industry.
