The American Girl Retail team plays a crucial role in providing experiential shopping destinations that go far beyond purchasing a product. These locations feature diverse, interactive activities such as Girl and Doll Salons, Full-Service Restaurants, Personal Shopping, Ear Piercing for both girls and dolls, and private Parties and Celebrations. The Party Planner position at the American Girl Retail store in Los Angeles is integral to creating magical, memorable events for guests. Reporting directly to the Assistant Store Manager, this role involves working one-on-one with party guests to orchestrate events that delight and entertain. The planner is responsible for managing all event details—from initial communication with customers to the seamless execution of party activities, including games, crafts, doll hair styling, and skincare treatments. This position demands exceptional organizational skills, a customer-first attitude, and the ability to multitask effectively in a high-energy environment. The Party Planner also works closely with the party team and external vendors to ensure all elements come together flawlessly, contributing to the store’s welcoming atmosphere and positive guest experiences.

This hourly position offers a competitive wage range between $18 and $21.15 per hour, depending on the candidate's location, skills, and experience. Job Duties

  • achieve and deliver timely steps of party execution
  • communicate with customers prior to events
  • create and maintain a pleasant ambiance in dining and party rooms
  • work with party team to greet and seat guests
  • share store and event information with guests
  • take and deliver beverage and food orders
  • upsell products during events
  • service parties throughout the event
  • prepare desserts and handle to-go transactions
  • deliver and process checks
  • bus and reset tables
  • clean and restock party supplies
  • meet sales goals and budget guidelines
  • work with external vendors and place product orders
  • ensure customer satisfaction and handle service issues
  • execute events according to American Girl standards including games, crafts, hair styling, and skin care of dolls
  • maintain ongoing communications with staff and management
  • follow health sanitation and workplace safety guidelines
  • assign and complete daily side work for front and back of house
  • operate the InfoGenesis system and ensure transactions comply with company policy
  • train and assist teammates in various restaurant areas
