Job Description
AWS Infrastructure Services is a critical division within Amazon Web Services (AWS) responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS's global infrastructure that powers its cloud services. This team ensures the reliability and availability of all AWS data centers worldwide by managing servers, storage systems, networking hardware, power supplies, and cooling equipment, supporting the vast and growing customer base that relies on AWS innovation. With a sharp focus on operational excellence, safety, security, and cost efficiency, AWS Infrastructure Services operates at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and complex logistical coordination, making it essential for the continuous availability and scalability of the AWS Cloud.
The company fosters a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and ownership, encouraging talented individuals to collaborate across software, hardware, network engineering, supply chain, security, and operations domains. The team thrives on solving some of the most challenging problems in the industry, such as optimizing supply chains impacted by thousands of variables and driving performance improvements on a large scale.
The role of the AMER Regional Program Manager (RPM) within AWS Infrastructure Services is instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the performance of AWS's construction portfolio across the Americas region. This position focuses on program management at a regional level, working internally to coordinate efforts across clusters of data center construction projects. The RPM leads performance improvement initiatives by conducting deep analytical reviews of key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying risks and milestones that may impact delivery outcomes, and driving cross-functional alignment among internal teams.
As an RPM, you will engage with various AWS internal teams, including Construction, Technical Infrastructure Program Management (TiPM), Design, Data Center Security and Protection (DCSP), Commissioning, and Controls. Your role involves deploying regular business reviews, providing weekly progress reports, early warning escalation notifications, and leading regional pre-sync meetings to keep all stakeholders well-informed and agile in their responses.
A key aspect of this role is serving as the primary contact for regional initiatives, managing projects from their conception through AMER-wide deployment. The RPM should be skilled at synthesizing complex data into actionable insights, developing tools, processes, and templates that prevent or quickly resolve delivery issues, and championing efforts to reduce the construction management workload while removing blockers that impede project progress.
The position requires a strategic and tactical mindset to navigate delivery challenges across multiple projects, driving organizational goals forward while ensuring a high standard for safety, quality, cost control, delivery schedules, and security compliance. The RPM position offers an exciting opportunity to make meaningful contributions to AWS's mission to provide infinite cloud capacity with exceptional performance, against the backdrop of a dynamic and fast-paced technical infrastructure environment.
This is a full-time role based in Austin, Texas, with an annual salary range of $111,300 to $186,100. In addition to competitive compensation, Amazon offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), life and disability insurance, employee assistance programs, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) matching, paid time off, parental leave, and other perks that support physical, mental, and financial well-being. Amazon values diversity and inclusion, and strives to provide accommodations and support for all employees throughout the hiring process and beyond.
