Job Description

The hiring establishment is a healthcare provider operating within a hospital setting, offering patient-focused amenities and support services that enhance the overall hospital experience. This organization is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and improving patient satisfaction by ensuring visitors and patients receive the information, support, and assistance they need throughout their stay. As a respected institution in the medical field, the hospital also prioritizes the importance of guest relations and patient-family interactions, leveraging trained Ambassadors to serve as the critical link between patients, their families, and the medical staff. This healthcare entity combines its medical expertise with excellent customer service and operational efficiency to create a welcoming and supportive environment for patients and visitors alike.

The role being offered is that of an Ambassador within the hospital, a position designed to provide comprehensive guest relations and patient liaison services across various departments and critical areas such as Information Desks, Emergency Department Desks, Pedway Cart services, ICU waiting rooms, and rounding new patient rooms throughout the hospital. Serving as the face of the hospital, Ambassadors contribute significantly to improving patient satisfaction scores by engaging patients and their families directly, providing timely, relevant information and addressing any concerns they may have. Ambassadors educate patients and families on service excellence survey expectations, helping the hospital gather valuable feedback to continually refine and enhance service delivery.

Responsibilities include providing wheelchair assistance, guiding visitors, assisting valet services, maintaining the first impression areas, managing driveway traffic control, and offering clear directions and information. Ambassadors also perform vital functions such as escorts, hospital transport, and support for Trauma Services, Adult and Children’s Emergency Departments, and Intensive Care Units. This role demands proficiency in multiple computer systems including IBEX, Invision, and Net Access for accurate data input and information management.

Given the diverse nature of their duties, Ambassadors must be equipped to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-stress hospital environment, demonstrating excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. The position not only enhances the patient experience but also supports hospital operations by maintaining smooth flow and effective service delivery at various points of patient and visitor interaction.

For those aspiring for leadership, the Ambassador Lead Person role within the Medical Mall oversees shift coverage on weekdays and weekends, manages scheduling, coordinates time-off requests, and ensures compliance with health requirements such as HLC’s and TB skin tests. This leadership function underlines the vital role Ambassadors play within the hospital infrastructure, supporting the frontline personnel in maintaining high standards of hospitality and patient care. This position offers an opportunity to be an integral part of a healthcare team committed to service excellence and compassionate patient care. Employment type and salary details are typically provided during the recruitment process and may vary based on experience and qualifications.
