The Plano Hilton, located at 677, Plano, TX, operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing a dynamic work environment. This full-time AM shift position involves the service of food and beverages to guests in a professional, timely, and courteous manner. This role is essential in ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction, which is critical in the hospitality industry. Serving guests includes order-taking, delivering food and beverage items, and replenishing supplies, all performed with friendliness and efficiency. The server plays a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere, explaining restaurant promotions, and adhering to all state and corporate regulations, particularly concerning the responsible service of alcoholic beverages. Additionally, the server supports the overall cleanliness and setup of the dining area, collaborates with kitchen staff through point-of-sale systems, and assists with side work such as restocking and cleaning. Safety and security procedures are strictly followed, and all team members must maintain a neat and professional appearance.

This role requires constant interaction with guests and team members, demanding excellent communication skills and a positive attitude. The server must be knowledgeable about menu items, able to recommend specials or desserts, and capable of handling various physical demands such as standing, walking, and carrying trays. The position also entails compliance with health and safety standards, including the use of protective equipment and reporting any unsafe conditions. Job Requirements

  • Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift
  • Lifting thirty pounds maximum
  • Constant standing and walking required
  • Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling
  • Knowledge of all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
  • Hold a current food handler card or in the process of being certified
  • Hold a valid TABC license

  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware
  • Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate simple instructions
  • Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items
  • Ability to operate beverage equipment e.g., coffee maker

Job Duties

  • Greet the guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or restaurant promotions for guest awareness
  • Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness
  • Record the details of the order from the guests, repeating the order to the guests to check for accuracy
  • Input the order into the Point of Sale computer to inform the kitchen of the particulars in the order being placed
  • When complete, retrieve order from kitchen, confirm its accuracy, and deliver to guests along with appropriate condiments
  • Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
  • Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction
